A few nights following....
She's relaxing in one of her hidey holes she has set up around Gotham. It's been a few nights since she an Robin had gotten into that fight. She was still rather sore over some of the things he had said to her.

And sore for other reasons really. She wouldn't disclose that to anyone. But she had redeemed herself just last night. For her own good she was laying low. That meant eating pizza and relaxing with some movies. She found herself very distracted because well she did have a weakness for bad horror movies and these were rather fantastic.

Also bad but that was part of the point. Little did she suspect she was about to have a visitor to her little safe haven.

	She doesn't know that though Thomas. If he can find this place she's assuming other people can. "Yeah but if you can find this place it's just a matter of time until all my other little safe havens are compromised," she can't help but point out. "At least it feels that way.... Oh now the sarcasm comes, "Yes because there are so many people in Gotham who could find this place, get through the security without you knowing and follow you to make sure you actually are here, and then have a chance to beat you in a fight. I bet it's so common you get visitors like me all the time. Just because I can do it doesn't mean everyone can. Besides, you seem like the type not to stay in one safehouse long."

He says nothing about the lack of street identity but takes note because he knows it'll help him later, at least to understand her. "And I'm not going to hurt you you know..." Because while he gets why she might think that, he's really not aiming to hurt people who don't deserve it.

"I can think of five people off the top of my head who could pull off the same thing and they're not as nice as you so excuse me for being upset! I can't come back here if you can get in, that means thy probably could too," she snaps. "You're their equal at least unless I'm totally wrong."

She huffs at him. "You seemed damned ready to the other night. You can't promise me anything Robin so don't try."

"Here's the thing. I'm a crimefighter. You're a criminal. Why are you so surprised I got in? Most of the people I do this to kind of expect it. Besides, who are you so scared of? You work for the mob. And right now the families are staying out of each other's business." There's more to this than she's saying, and boy is this the touchiest anyone's ever taken a break and enter. Even weirder that it's a thief.

The next part actually pisses him off and he sends her a particularly dark bat glare. "But. I. Didn't. If I wanted you hurt you would be hurt already and we wouldn't be having this conversation. I don't hurt people without reason. That's not a promise. It's a fact." Most of it comes out in a hiss but the last part is a pure bat growl. He doesn't hurt people who don't deserve it. And beating her for theft was just...he couldn't even imagine doing that. Fighting was different than hurting someone.

	"I...can't say," she says starting to retreat just a bit. Just touching on that has her wanting to get out of here so she doesn't have to talk about it. Not that she is going to go anywhere. Okay, there was more to this than just being a usual mob contract thief. Something that scared her. And she certainly wasn't going to tell him from the looks of it.

That and her implying that he'd hurt her for no good reason was...offensive actually. He was the good guy here, he wouldn't hurt her, and the fact that she'd even imply that...yes that hurt and pissed him off. "...Good. Let's make that clear. I do not hurt people who do not deserve it and who haven't given me a reason to hurt them. I'm not some half-wit mob thug."

	She didn't want to tell him anyways. If he wins she has to give him something. She glances at him again. "You likely wouldn't be able to keep up with me if you were." Wait, what? Okay she actually...liked him? It wasn't just for distraction...Well that was nice to know.

He can't help the small smile that's found it's way onto his face. "Seriously? You weren't just..." Okay he is now torn between laughing at himself and looking even more confused. "I just assumed you...well you work for the mob, although I guess there's more to it than that now... and you were just...messing with me a bit." There's definetly more to her 'contract' work than what he thinks, he's just not sure what it is yet.

Yep, this was weird for him too. He never had to deal with criminals that were this...endearing? Whatever it was this was new.

He gives her an awkward shrug, "Well I didn't know that...I mean...most people don't really do that respect and not using people thing. So I guess I assumed...well, ...thanks." That'll get her a small smile now.

He bites his lip too, but mostly because he's not sure what to do now. Training did not prepare you for this. At all.

"You're welcome." This was certainly a new situation.

"I'm glad you do. And...I hope it's clear that that's the same for me." Her comment before implying he'd hurt people still stung. He doesn't like being seen that way, and certainly not by her.

He squirms a little trying to think of what to do now. They're both so lost with this.

"Ah...did you want to...forget about us losing our tempers there? I'd say start over but that'd be inaccurate...Just, call it a misunderstanding?" It's a truce offering. One he normally wouldn't make but...he's not proud of how mad he's gotten at her and wants to put it aside. Or at least try. Playful enemies was better than whatever that last encounter was. And it wasn't like she was the dangerous scum type of criminal that he should be worried about.

"I think I'd be okay with that." She has turned around and gotten pretty close. Without her boots or even shoes on she is tiny compared to him. That doesn't stop the flirty way she traces his jaw long the underside with her finger tip.

Then she decides to hell with it. Thoma is going to have her stealing a kiss from him. He could easily say no as he is making sure to not grab a hold of him even if it would make it easier for her.

He's looking down, slightly distracted, to meet her eye as her finger runs along his jaw. "Good to hear..." Again innerBatman is telling him to be careful, to back off now, that letting it keep going was dangerous.

It takes him a moment to decide, but he ignores that voice in the back of his head telling him to pull away, and leans forward and a little lower to return the kiss. His hands are still at his sides, just in case she changes her mind and pulls away like last time.

	She's not going to kill him. Just flirt with him now that she's less mad at him. Now of course she is more than happy to kiss him. This time though she relaxes. 	He doesn't think she's that sort of dangerous, but he's too used to being wary. This is a new sort of recklesness for him. He lets her wrap her arms around him and pull him down so they're a tad closer in height. Careful not to move too fast, he gently places his hands on her waist while relaxing a bit, taking the time to enjoy the moment while it lasts. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
