"I.... hide what I'm really feelin' most of the time. Don't wanna upset anyone," she says with a shrug. She's not used to opening up about her feelings at all.
Her Dad had treated her like a boy growing up. Which meant that she was expected to take care of things emotionally on her own. Her Mom hadn't really helped wanting Jess to feel self-sufficant.
