You're Invited...
A few days later (after Heather had returned from Opal with Jess and Harry), mail arrived at the New Guardians headquarters (or their PO box, anyway).  They'd left a couple ways to get a hold of them after the fire rescue, though none that would disrupt their privacy, at least, not yet.

It was an invitation to appear at a charity ball that was being hosted to raise money for the victims of the fire.

This got a team meeting.  "So...." Heather asked.  "Do we go?"

"Andy's right. We're...we're a team. We should all go," he admits nervously. He didn't want them to change plans or worry about him. He could put up with this, and he certainly didn't want anyone to have to stay behind because of him. No, he'd go. And probably end up trying to blend in and not be noticed but that was his problem not theirs. There was never any point worrying people about his problems.

"Boss, could I...wear goggles or sunglasses or something?" He didn't think a mask would be appropriate. "I mean just...just to..." At that point he loses steam and just hopes his suggestion would be okay.

"I... do not know party. No clothes for such things. Would... need to stay close to French or Arabic speaker... crowds very confusing." Saishu stumbles through the English, trying to participate in the overall conversation and voice her concerns, at least.

"Nobody has to go, but it'd be nice. Lenny, you and I can bring radio or iphones and check up on things just as easily there as here. Harry, of course you can. I can get you some good, classy shades if you need new ones." She turns to Saishu. "We'll get you something to wear, and I promise I won't leave you alone there."

Cindy's concern for Saishu registers as a slight pinkish glow for Heather, and she allows herself a small smile. Someone out there for everyone.

...Except maybe crystal freaks.

She forces the smile to return. "Sounds like a plan then."
