One-sided conversations @ 01:05 pm

[info]hopeburnsbright:

Ever since she'd gotten back from her training on Odym, Rose visited her parents' graves everyday. Normally at night, when she'd have the whole cemetery to herself, and after she'd done everything that she needed to for the day.

When she first came back from her training as a Blue Lantern, Rose would just cry whenever she attempted to visit her parents' graves. It wasn't a sign of weakness, just her letting go of some of the pent-up sadness that she'd had inside of her for awhile.

The crying ceased over time, and Rose found herself just sitting on the ground, talking to her parents' graves. In a way, it was just like those conversations that she used to have with her parents everyday when they were alive.

Soiree Espionage @ 07:31 pm

There was a week between the afternoon she worked her way into a recon partnership with Red Robin and the evening of the event and J'anna hadn't wasted a moment of it.  With the scant information she had been provided while Red Robin ate, she had done some of her own digging and her own research not just on the targets but also on the event they would be attending.  It had all lead to shopping.  One couldn't go to an event without a proper dress and there was the added complication: the fact that she kind of liked Red Robin so she wanted to not only look appropriate, but also pretty.  Not as though it would particularly matter, she had reasoned, but since she'd never gotten to go to prom (another consequence of Lian's endless pursuit of White Martians) she figured what the hell.

The preparation was all classic J'anna. She not only looked perfect but was done early and was properly waiting for Red Robin to show up, idly wondering if he'd be in cape and cowl.  That could be amusing.  There was one twist to her appearance, however.  Rather than being dressed in her typical June Cleaver meets J Crew modest fashion, the Martian was wearing a knockout of a blue gown that showed plenty of shoulder and was bare from her neck to the small of her back.

It was blue.  She liked it.

The Heist @ 10:30 pm

Edge City was home to one of the few Wayne Enterprises technical depots in the American Northwest,  and Damien knew that the Grand Design would need parts of the best quality for maximum output. The machine is nearly completed, but so much remained to be done. Tonight, he would kill two birds with one stone.

He would obtain the parts needed for the machine and test the loyalty of the League of Assassins' newest member. Lian Harper had made herself indispensable to him over the past week, but Damien was still wary of her. Morgaine still advocated murdering her (in her sleep was Morgaine's favorite suggestion), but Damien could not yet drop the hammer.

He hoped that Lian would prove up to tonight's task and handed her the binoculars so that she could see the their target from the top of the cliffs several miles above the facility. The pair of them, along with seven others, would rappel down the cliffside and into the valley to infiltrate the building.

"Once we have procured our items, we will exit the building and head for the chopper. It will be here on time. We will spare no civilians who stand in our way. Do you understand our mission, Lian?" Damien asks his Head of Security.
