Face Time (With Zoe) @ 12:03 am

Angela read over the reports from each member of the Squad once they'd been filed, going over each account in detail. Three of the people on the team had a head for this type of work, but it was Zoe Torres' performance and account that interested her most. Angela had gone to the trouble of recruiting three seasoned killers to give the team some punch, but Zoe was hired mostly on her pedigree, rather than her talent, which was considerable.

Zoe, however, seemed as willing and eager to participate as the others. The paycheck might have something to do with it, but Angela also sensed something else about the girl that she needed to understand before it became an issue.

So she called Zoe to a recently purchased office building in the Triangle to discuss a few things. Checkmate wanted eyes in Star City and the knight in charge would arrive in a few days. For now, the Black King wanted Angela on the ground.

She waited for Zoe to arrive as a pot of coffee boiled near her desk.

Mickey had roped off the living room in the JSA Brownstone for the afternoon. She had spent the entire morning getting the food ready and setting up. She had sent out invites to the JLA, Titans (both East and West Coast), Shadowpact, Outsiders, Birds of Prey, and of course, the JSA girls. She had also invited Cindy in case she wanted to come, and Angie, as she was basically a JSA brat herself. Mikey had built her a projection bot, and security bot that would alert her if any of the boys thought to try and see what the girls were up to.

Mickey finished setting up the projector. She had pictures of all the guys from the various teams that she had managed to get to her hands on. She made sure that there would be enough food and drinks for everyone, and waited for people to start arriving.

Jai West doesn't need to be able to think clearly to know that he's in bad shape. His brain feels as though it's floating in toxic waste. He doesn't know how many times they've drugged him or forced him to run, but he's sure it's a lot. They feed him well-enough, but whatever they're lacing the food with slows his normally high-speed thought processes to tortoise speed. Irey could probably run faster than he can think right now, and it sucks.

And every other day, /he/ shows up to talk.

Today, Jai has started the morning by puking up his breakfast. He's lying in the puddle of his own vomit when the Boss (and that's all he can be, because everyone runs to do what he says on command) shows up for their talk.

"You look...dapperrrr....today." Jai slurs in the man's direction.
