With great fame, comes great danger
So, they had agreed to go the charity ball. Heather recognized a few people, she thought. The mayor, for one. Maybe a couple local celebrities. And sadly, a fair amount of media coverage inside, though the team had managed to escape at least some of the attention.

She was carrying a drink. Not because she could drink it, but because it at least gave her something to do with her hands. She was a little uncomfortable, she had to admit, with this much of an overt display of wealth and power.

But it was good for them and good for the city and, more importantly, good for the people they'd helped. She just had to keep telling herself that.

She'd just lost her arm. Even with Jess recovering some of the shards, her arm was gone. It wasn't a clean break, the stub's edges with jagged and sharp. But there was no blood. In fact, looking at the break itself, there was no sign that she wasn't anything other than solid crystal through and through.

Just like when the Cyborg had blasted a hole straight through her. That had knitted back together eventually, new crystal growing to replace what had been missing.

But for the moment, all she could do was stare at where her arm had been, frozen by confusion and fear.
There was a curious absence of pain. The break itself had hurt, but once the pieces had separated from her body...

	The physical attack will keep coming. There is plenty of Fear coming from those around Andy: Fear for Heathers health. Fear of hurting others. Fear of Cindy being taken. Enough to keep the powers and the attack going. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

If Harry stayed in one place long enough, Andy would definitely be able to tell just how much fear Harry had at the moment. But it's difficult to keep track of him, he's only visible as rapid flashes of indigo light flitting across the room. Never staying long enough for anyone to get a good look at him.

Currently in damage control mode, Harry does whatever he can think of that might be helpful. He gets the last few civilians out the room, moves Heather right beside Lenny so his powers can work better, and, once he sees that Saishu's attack with the table had distracted the guy, starts teleporting above Hammond with furniture in tow and leaving it to fall on him and distract. Verbal fighting was bad, but at least physical fighting was easier to stop, and if it couldn't, well there was more for him to do to help out.

	Physical fighting, on the other hand, is Saishu's specialty. The table was just a distraction - coming right behind it at a high rate of speed is one agitated amazon. Dealing with the room, all the confusion, and so much change has already had her on edge - so punching something is already a pretty natural response. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Hammond was not much of one for physical violence, and his telekinetic shields are hastily erected and weak, barely protecting him from the full force of their blows. "Get off!" he shouts, trying to push them away with his telekinesis. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Hmmond may not be much of one for physical violence, but he's gone toe to toe with veteran GL's as well. Saishu is duly taken off her feet by the TK and put not only into a wall, but through it, and two others.

Thankfully, she can also take a beating. Its just ticking her off. She tears away most of the inconvenient skirt so she can move, tears apart one of the tables where she ended up, arming herself with two metal table legs, and comes charging back through the wall, screaming bloody murder towards Hammond as most of the wall she originally went out through collapses with the impact.

As if to show just how powerful Hammond can be, it is not just Saishu that goes flying, but Andy as well. The giant form Andy has taken is slammed into the wall, which indents and Andy is now down on one knee hard.

And Andy shifts again. There are now leathery wings on Andys back and the visible eyes are a sickly yellow glow.

"Hurt my friends. Foolish mistake. Hurt you now," Andy says as the new form flies at Hammond, its huge size moving at incredible speed.

Hammond is one of the most formidable telepaths on the planet, but Cindy's particular knack is like a knife slipping in between the whirling blades of a sword. Against brute force, the softer touch can sometimes slip through.

Hammond's defenses falter and Saishu and Andy strike at about the same time. The large headed man goes flying, crashing into and shattering a table. He tries to rise, briefly, and falls.

He appears to still be breathing, but does not get up.

Harry had just teleported above with another piece of furniture as a distraction when Hammond's telekinetic shields hit hard. He knows he can absorb things made of the emotional spectrum, but this certainly isn't that, and he goes flying into a wall on the other side of the room.

But oddly enough the impact feels dulled, like instead of being slammed into a wall he'd fallen onto a mattress. Blinking a little as he hits the floor, it takes a moment for him to regain his senses, more from the shock of not actually being hurt than anything else. There was a reason he hadn't tested this part of his powers, he had no idea how hard he'd need to be hit to really feel it. And he really didn't intend to do that any time soon.

"Did uh...did we get him?"

Hammond is still breathing - Saishu looks intent on fixing that oversight. Her eyes glow very faintly with a reddish light, and licks of bright red dance up and down her weapon.

Oh yeah... she had a discussion or two about this 'super hero' thing. Warrior's discipline reasserts itself... sort of. She looks to Cindy as if seeking whether Hmmond gets the traditional thumbs up or thumbs down.

	Bad guy is down. Good fight. Right now, there are other concerns. "Heather needs repairs! Knows how? Can help!" Andy says as the other form starts to go away and Andy rushes to help Heather out. Andy can access basic first aide stuff from the internet, but most of them may not help with a crystalline girl. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I'm okay, Andy, really," Heather insisted. It was true. Under Lenny's power, the ability of her body's crystal to regrow itself was accelerated remarkably. New crystal was knitting itself before their eyes.

"Doesn't hurt. And I've got Lenny lending me a hand."

She chuckled at that, and then kept laughing, uncomfortably, because it wasn't funny, but if she really stopped to think about it...

Honestly, if he hadn't seen Heather have a hole blown through her and had to drag her out of that fight he'd be fretting as badly as Andy. But as it is he's just quietly worried. Sure she'd recovered from that, and likely would from this too, but how badly could she be injured and how much could be blown off before she couldn't anymore? That was his biggest concern. But he won't voice it right now.

Instead he walks over to Lenny and carefully places a hand on his shoulder. He'd tried this part of his powers with Ganthet in training but never outside it. Whatever energy he has, he lets flow into Lenny instead, hoping it'll boost his powers.

	Once the cuffs are made, Cindy touches Saishu's hand carefully. "Thanks." Then, she's suddenly storming past everyone. "She's going to be okay, Andy." 	The touch seems to help Saishu settle a bit - the impromptu cuffs are still applied in just short of arm-breaking fashion... but at least its that much short. But she's doing better... still best to keep her away from the cops and crowd though. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
