So a Redhead, an Asian, and two Aliens walk into a bowling alley...
"I'm telling you Lizzy," Petra munches away at her curly fries, just behind the seats for their lane, with an open line of sight to the lane she knew her little girl-friend would be on with... her boy. "--I don't trust him. No-one just meets someone else like that. He's gotta be some kind of pickup artist." She'd gone very light on the details prior to getting Lizzy along to run surveillance/security with her. She wanted unbiased responses.

Oh, this had suddenly gotten very very complicated. This was where it always got very awkward on the TV shows.

A few frames later, Virgil is still picking up mostly spares, with two strikes as well. "Are you having a good time?" He smiles happily at Kim. This dating business was much less fraught with peril than he'd been lead to believe. No sinister rivals from Kim's school had shown up, nor had any friends of his needed bailing out from crazy schemes.

"Oh, very much," Kim said. She had been doing well, but merely well. Not the super-well she could probably be doing. Trying to be merely human was difficult sometimes.

Sadly, though, no one had broken out into song. That was very disappointing.

She began her approach for the next frame.

He's interrupted as a passerby lets out a wolf-whistle as Kim bends over. Virgil abruptly turns around, administering his best glare.

Kim's Martian ears picked up on the whistle, but she did not pay too much attention to it, instead focusing on her game.

It did distract her though, and her ball skidded into the gutter at the last moment.

"Oh, darn!"

"That pig!" Virgil gets up in a huff, adjusting his glasses, and starts to storm after the scoundrel, who has now picked up his gait by a bit.

He didn't get very far. Looking back over his shoulder for Virgil, the other young man ran smack into Petra, spattering nachos all over both of them.

"..."

Silence reigns for a moment.

"YOU DUMBASS! LOOK AT THIS!" Petra dissolves into angry Norwegian, hauling the unfortunate outside by his ear.

"Oh... it's nothing, Kim. It looks like it resolved itself." He walks back to the lane. Small cracks are in the floor at his last footstep before he stopped.

"Was who what?" Virgil cocks his head, waving a hand as he smiles. "Everything's fine. That creep just did something rude, and I was about to say something to him when.. well, you saw the mess.

Thank you." He steps up and takes his ball, sending it down the lane a bit more sharply than intended. One pin snaps in half as it is tossed back into the recesses of the lane, amidst the flurry of motion of the strike.

...That was definitely Petra.

The snap of the pin brings her back to the moment, though. "Oh my!"

Petra is giving the boy a severe talking-to, including taking ownership of his jacket, as Varon can also sense.

Virgil clears his throat as he walks back from the line, hoping nobody saw that. Those things must break eventually even under normal use, right? He's seen baseballs get taken apart by particularly strong hitters.

"Uh... yay, another strike." He grins. "You've been doing really well too, for being new at this."

Petra definitely did not live anywhere near Kim. So why was she here? And why did she not tell her that she was?

"Oh, I do not know about that," Kim said, as she threw the ball. Carefully, and not so much so that it even caused any visual effects, she prodded it with just a little Martian vision, knocking it off course and into the gutter at the last moment.

"I still have much to learn."

It's surely an amazing coincidence.

Petra returns, storming over to the lane she and Lizzy had, wearing a jacket over-- well, the guy would be having the blouse drycleaned and waiting for her at a time she'd demanded. Having taken his driver's license from him, along with some Gardner diplomacy, had seemed sufficient to guarantee compliance. She was finishing zipping up just as she got to Lizzy. "I miss anything?"
