Maria knew it wasn't the painkillers, but she accepted the lie. She knew how serious things were and knew tempers were short.
"Bones will heal," she said first. "We're both out of action for a bit." Maria would be back on patrol before him, but not by too much. "Yes, the psychotic clown is back and we need to find a way to keep someone out of the picture." She knew Bruce would want to suit up as soon as he knew his old adversary was alive again.
"I don't want to talk about it." Tomas was a complicated issue without secret identities being thrown into the mix. Now it was just...it was giving her a headache already.
