"You know what's in my fridge," she said, not embarrassed in the least. Mom and Alfred taught her to cook and she could cook rather well, but it was a lot of effort especially for one person. Maria would rather spend her energies elsewhere.
"A mouse would starve. I know how to cook, but I practically live on takeout and diner food. Besides, it's open all night which helps when it's four am and you're starving after a night of patrol. What about you? What do you do for regular meals?"
