The Boyfriend's Smell-Test
Henry Jordan is skeptical of Katima's friend Alerron, but he's willing to give him a shot, if for no other reason than Katima's asked for it. Which brings him to the center of the Pacific, tracking Alerron's signature.

Henry chuckles. "Neither. They're album covers -- art that accompanied popular music. That's Abbey Road, by the Beatles," he points out. "That's Crazy Train. Ozzy. That's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Elton John. There's the Bee Gees, there's Aretha Franklin, there's Johnny Cash..."

They take a seat under Johnny Cash's poster, and each are handed a menu. Once they're left alone, Henry looks over at the prince. "Do you need help reading the menu?"

"Because I do not have X'Hal's blessing on Rigel-9 as I do here, so I would need aid. And until I can find a way to take her back without getting us both slain in the process, I am of no use to her dead. I did not intend to come here, originally, Lantern.

It was an act of providence that led me here, but I have no ties to Earth and no standing for asking your aid. I'd thought to go to Oa and find my father, but that went poorly." he says.

Alerron has thought about this himself many times, because even on Okara, he did not know what he would do the rest of his life.

"I do not know. I have not considered that far ahead. I suppose that I would return to New Tamaran and learn about my station. But I also wanted to learn more about the universe and the other species out there.

I do not know what I would do next." he says.

Alerron tries on the root beer and his face contorts in distaste.

"This is revolting." he says, swallowing the first sip. Then he takes another.

"Positively revolting." he says, handing Henry back his drink. He takes a big gulp of the fruit punch to wash away the taste of the root beer.

"Hmm. I cannot think of any other questions for you currently, though...I would like to ask how long it might take to find allies to aid us in rescuing my mother." he says.

"It cannot be a huge strike force. We will need to find a balance in our choices."
