A shot of burbon to make it all go down
She knew better. She should have known better. Now all the pieces were in her hands and she would rather throw them to the wind. She knew that knowing things could be useful and all she wanted to know is if she could trust Red Arrow the next time they worked together.

She hadn't meant to discover who everyone in the Arrow Family was. It made her feel ill knowing so much about them without knowing anything about herself. So she was angry at how noisy she had been and the fact if Mia, no Red Arrow, knew she might not get to have a friend.

It bothered her that it upset her so she went drinking. It was dumb and she could feel how easy it would be to start a fight. That was when a guy started trying to put the moves on her. His buddies had circled in and she knew that they were trouble.

So she got up off the bar stool and smiled sweetly before punching him across the jaw and whirling with so much danger to her movements to hit the other guys. She went fast and hard and they tried to hit her back. In five minutes they were all booted on their asses, Jane going more willingly because she wasn't going to hit people who didn't deserve it.

But she could feel them following her as she weaved to her car. So the fight started again when Jane got hit from behind and snarled, leaping at one of them with fire and anger to kick him in the teeth. Yeah this is going to be lovely. Someone should break this up before she does some real damage.

"We've worked together a few times," Mia said,"Nothing planned...as if anything's planned in this line of work. I wasn't exactly planning on breaking up any bar-fights."

Jane just laughs softly.

"Yeah well maybe tonight is slow." She nudges one of the men with her foot. "There's still stuff out there if 'ya keep your ears to the ground."

She thinks about it then reaches into her coat and flips open to the middle. She tears it on and passes it over. They may or may not already know about a new drug shipment coming in but Jane has neat notes on a drop point they probably don't know about. "Not my thing. He thought I'd be interested. I was rooting up other information and thought it would be useful since in the following weeks a bunch of teens get into trouble or go missing."

Roy accepts the note, glances at it, and then passes it to Mia. Pretty impressive for an independent. He's not going to invade on Mia's territory, though, so he'll give her dibs to run this down if she wants. "Lady gets first pick."

Hands free now, Roy puts his hand out to Jane. "Arsenal. Thanks for the lead. Trust me, those teens will appreciate the help." He did, after all.

Mia glanced down at the note. "Huh. I think the three of us should go in on this one." She looked back up at Jane, "If you want in, that is." They're a good team, after all, the random meetings that they've had.

Jane is surprised but then nods. It's a good idea and safe. "I think I can do that. Don't have a case until New Years so I'm free."

It drives her nuts when she's waiting. "For the record I do use guns but with non-lethal ammo. Don't think that should be an issue though, we're just bagging 'em."

"Y'know it's real easy for something to go wrong," he says about the guns.

They're are a thing of his past, and while he never plans to touch one again, he won't object to their use anymore than he already has.

Besides, chicks dig the archer thing. "Sounds good to me. Better to go in with numbers, anyway."

"Long as you watch where you're shooting." Mia gave Jane a stern look. "Like Arsenal said, really easy for somthing to go wrong."

"I know. I've been shot before," she says with a grimace. A hand goes over the area as she just frowns over it. "I'm careful. Never aim a gun unless you know where yer gonna shoot. What I always do."

Her voice did that thing again where it got a little more rougher without her thinking about it. She isn't angry at them just defending what she does.

Maybe sometime when he won't look like he's giving a total stranger a lecture, he'll show her the tranq-gun design Sandy Hawkins at the JSA made for him years back.

But for now, Arsenal just grins at her. It's hard to tell whether it's smug or genuine. With a flick of his hand, he opens his phone and waves the women forward at the same time. "Cops should be here to bag the trash right n' snappy, if you lovely ladies want to lead the way?"

Red Arrow grinned at him. "It'd be my pleasure." She looked over at Jane, "Let's get out of here."

She checks her watch. The face needed to be replaced weeks ago but she gets distracted. The crack is in the way but she sees the time clearly enough. "I should head on back to my office. Left some thing undone. If we need to keep talking we can meet there.... Gotta find my car."

She forgets exactly where she parked it. Oops. She wrinkles her nose as she peers into the night. Just where is it?

Ah ha, next to the blue and red Bug.

A little twitchy and defensive, but she seems like good people. Arsenal goes back the way he came and waits for his lead...

Not before teasing Mia a little, though. He has to! He's the older brother, after all. "So are you sharing wardrobes and Haagen-Daas yet?"

Mia playfully elbowed him. "Knock it off," she said with a smirk. "You're just jealous that you don't have your own P.I."

"Oh, I do," he says with a knowing smile. "They're just eighteen and ten, not nearly as sneaky as they think, and I'm pretty sure it's a life mission at this point."

If they plan to follow now might be a good time. Jane drives without a care. She drives quickly and just on one side of dangerous. It isn't that she is about to cause accidents or anything she just drives and reacts without even flinching.

She gets to her office without incident though and is keying herself into the building and is up in her office. She makes a face and quickly starts to pack things away. She doesn't want anyone to know what she has been working on. She taps her fingers along the desk then flips on the lamp and leans back.

"Urgh. Traffic was a nightmare. It took me five minutes to get here." It should have taken ten, Jane dear.

Mia's no stranger to bad driving. She's been around Roy and Ollie for years, after all.

Jane will find that Mia's already waiting by the window to be let in when she arrives. Grinning, she leaned forward, tapping on the glass.

Jane quirked an eyebrow before she got up and opened the window. Her office looks pretty clean and well organized.

Her apartment is different but this is totally different. "Come on in."

She hoped Mia hadn't taken a look at what she had just put away. She'd make sure to shred stuff and burn it latter. Right now though she had every confidence that no one would be going through her desk. Jane was though picking up some thick files and putting them away.

She had been going over some cases from the past year that afternoon. She just forgot to take care of things. "Come on in."

Roy's right behind Mia, and he doesn't miss the quick clean-up. He's done it himself a few times with unwanted eyes around-- like two capes in the office of a private investigator. But it could always be her dry-cleaning bill.

"Nice setup," Roy notes. "Looks like you keep yourself busy-- I mean, for shenanigans." What a great, under-used word!

Mia slipped in the window, lowering the hood on her cloak as she did.

"What you got so far that we can use?"

"Thanks. This used to be my old man's office. Always liked it for the security. I've had a few problems with people who don't like me that much, so I like the locks," she rumbles.

"Hold on. Got it around here somewhere." Jane is poking around before she pulls out a map. Then nods before slowly putting it up on the wall. She stands back then nods and flips on a light. There they go. It is a large paper nap of the city.

There are some stray notes here and there and some numbers too. She wiggles the fingers on one hand in thought then grabs a pencil marking a few things on the map before drawing a circle. "This is where the drop off point is going to be. I've seen the building a couple times since it's near a patch of hotels I stake out for my clients all the time. Right here," she motions to one box she drew. "That's a great look out point. Trust me, I climb buildings when I have to. Good place to stay hidden and see everything on that side of the block. I can take the building over here, the corner has some bushes and shit. I've had to jump them enough times to know ya could hide a horse in it. Anything you guys know?"
