Admission of Guilt (Open to Avia, Barda and Scott)
An hour after Hope's abduction, Rex asks Avia to call her parents and tell them he needs to speak to them immediately at the Brownstone.

Rather than hunt them down, he'll let the people with Boom Tubes come to him for ease of travel...and because most people would rather die someplace familiar than elsewhere.

	Rex's expression remains grim under his helmet, but his mind races. This is bad. "Goddess! Snap out of it!" he says, taking flight as she comes at him and drawing his weapon. Okay, this is just like sparring with her any day of the week. Skimpy clothes, she wants to kick my ass. Now, I just gotta outsmart her. he thinks. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Warhawk parries the axe blow, but doesn't return the strike as expected. He's got to get past whatever Stoneface has done to Hope. "Hope, you don't want to do this! Come on, /fight/ this!" he yells, dodging another blow, flying past her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He's still not seeing her as his enemy, so the tackle catches him off guard and he drops his axe as they crash to the ground. His breath leaves him in a rush and the world spins in his head. She's going to kill him if he doesn't break her out of this. He begins trying to knee her in the stomach and ribs, following it up with a headbutt. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The knee connected and Hope growled. So he thought that he could hurt her, did he? It would take more than a couple of kicks to bring her down. Hope grabbed his head when he tried to headbutt her, going to slam it into the ground. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He's glad he didn't lose his helm in the fall. When she slams his head into the ground, the stars continue, but Rex keeps trying to kick and knee her. Soon enough, he'll try to roll her over and pin her down. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The axe manages to slice into his arm a bit, and Rex recoils in pain, rolling off of Hope. His wings beat furiously with the pain, and he stares her down again.

"Goddess, I know you're in there. I'm not gonna fight you or hurt you, because I love you too much to do that." Rex says, surprised at his own words.

It would have been better to tell her something like that at dinner, when he had a chance.

Rex unbuckles his mace and throws it to the ground, then takes of his helm and drops that on the ground, too.

"Goddess, that maniac can't take you away from the people who love you unless you let him. You've never let /anyone/ push you around, so don't start now." Rex says, spreading his arms as wings.

"If you're gonna kill me, do it. But I'm not fightin' back." he says, uttering a silent prayer to the Gods.

He knows he's not going to reincarnate like Mom and Carter, so Hope needs to snap out of this before she kills him.

Hope chuckled. "Fool." She charged at Rex, her axe raised in the air...

And then stopped suddenly.

This isn't you. You aren't Darkseid's puppet. A little voice nagging in the back of her mind said.

No. You are Hope Free. Daughter of Scott and Barda Free. You are a warrior, but you are no one's puppet You take orders from no one. Especially him.

SILENCE! You dare to tell me who you think I am?!

I do not think. I know. Because I am you...

Hope's eyes seemed to regain their color. She blinked, a little dazed. "...Rex?"

	Hope's brain fought for control. Then he said those three little words. He love her. So did her family. They were here because they loved her. And that was worth fighting for. "I'm NOT your puppet, Darkseid!" She snarled. (Reply to this)(Parent)
