Vigil (Open to Star City Heroes)
Red Robin watches from the fire escape of the business across the street of Star City General Hospital, keeping an eye out for anyone who looks out of place. He sees Detective Falconeri of the Star City P.D. holding down the scene for the third night in a row, since Roy Harper was brought in with a gunshot wound. The shooting hadn't been publicized yet, hadn't hit any airwaves or made any headlines, according to the Detective. Someone high up in the government has called in favors to keep things under wraps. That was the first thing that caught Red Robin's attention.

A late night visit to the Police Department's file room uncovered the second: the shooter was ID'ed as none other than Slade Wilson. Deathstroke. A man with a long history of hatred against Roy's family and Roy's adopted father, Oliver Queen. On paper, this looked like the perfect way to get at Oliver; shoot down his son during a business meeting in the Triangle and make a break for it.

Only, Slade got caught. Another flag raised immediately.

There only other witness to the crime was dead, also by Slade's hand, which made Tim wonder.

"Who benefits...?" he asks himself as he keeps an eye on the scene. The most likely scenario is that Slade shot down Roy to get at Oliver. Slade's always been better prepared than this, though. He's been able to fight the whole Justice League to a standstill /solo/, so killing Roy should have been easier than breathing for him. Roy didn't see it coming and Slade motive, means and opportunity.

Yet, Roy is alive, in critical condition and Slade is imprisoned.

Who benefits from this kind of chaos?
