Just to keep it streamlined, here's a post for texting that happened over Thanksgiving break between students.

Be sure to put in the subject line who the text is to and from and if you want include the time.

And remember: texts have a maximum of 160 characters.

Two wins in two weeks by the previously ailing Clemons Quodpot Team had Adelaide in an extraordinarily good mood. It wasn't just House Pride at stake-- as assistant coach, she took it as a personal insult when the team failed to perform to her expectations. For two wins in a row, well, everyone had to be rewarded.

After a raucous and almost violent team celebration in the locker rooms the team and supporters adjourned to the Clemons Common Room where little supervision was ever exercised, and smuggled contraband could pass freely. This of course, would prove to be the cause of many a headache and walks of shame the morning after, and on the St George's Way trip on Sunday The Test Lab would surely do a roaring trade in half-cocked hangover cures.

The Clemons faithful partied late into the night, pausing only briefly to try and look innocent when Professor West popped his head in at curfew and pretended to have absolutely no idea what his students were quite obviously doing. When the bottles ran dry and Dean started to look as though he was going to rip somebody's head off (he was always the first to get out of hand) the party disbanded, and everyone slunk back to their respective rooms.

Which was easy enough for the upperclassmen. Adelaide had to navigate her way back to the university dorms, which became a very dangerous and complex task after a few too many firewhiskey shots. The path had most definitely become far more labyrinthine and treacherous than in daylight hours, and she was certain that those steep, jagged cliffs she had just braved had been stairs only hours earlier. It was with great surprise then that she showed up to her dorm to find that it had somehow been transformed into a small hedge. She fell over it with a short yelp, landing rather uncomfortably in a flowering shrub. Utterly defeated, she let out a pathetic little whimper and pulled the hood of her jacket up over her head to sleep right there.

Out on the far side of Lake George, just far enough off campus to allow apparating for those that could, was an old, abandoned boathouse. Many, many years ago it had been used by one of the families in the area but over time it fell into disrepair, forgotten by all. Except for the enterprising troublemakers of Dresden Academy, that is.

What had once been an elegant exterior was now covered in vines and graffiti, windows shattered and boarded up against the snows and rain. The upstairs had been a small apartment, presumably for the family to stay overnight on fishing trips. Now it was a gutted series of connected rooms and a dirty (but functional) ensuite that provided an ideal party venue for the kids who wanted freedom and mayhem all in a conveniently sheltered location. The downstairs had been storage for the boats, leading into the lake via a gently sloping ramp. The exterior doors had long since been sealed, and the dark, dank, cobweb-filled cavern of a basement had sat empty ever since-- save for the brave young lovers from every party who would take any opportunity for privacy.

( No one was really sure who organized the secret afterparty for Halloweenfest every year. )

I think it's time we shed our Quidditch team monikers of A and B. Frankly I'm sick of being called Team B. As president of the student government, I propose that we give our teams proper names.

Luka spent much of Saturday morning trying to sort his head out. Arnaud was good enough to clear out of the room and mingle with some of his other friends and their families. It gave Luka just enough time to plaster a fake smile on when his parent's arrived to pick him up for lunch.

He'd been planning on introducing them to Adelaide, which was practically like proposing marriage at this stage of the game. ( Luka never introduced girls to his parents. )

Bill Ford hadn't been to one of these things the entire time Abernathy was at school. There was always the risk he'd be recognized by one of his former classmates; surely they had children, some of them were educators at the school. ( The gig would be up immediately. )

Bernadine tried on her new school uniform, bouncing around her dorm room. She'd been anxious since putting Abernathy's borrowed trunk at the foot of her bed. She waited until Monday to move in, much to the dismay of her father. Her closet was already put away.

It seemed that the truce called between Abernathy and Adelaide was a genuine affair, as the peace had been lasting, if not a little strained. That first weekend of respite had passed without incident, and during the following summer Adelaide found herself the surprised recipient of a polite owl extending her an offer to again join the Ford family for a few days. She accepted almost immediately, thanking Abernathy for the invitation (though she had little doubt Bernadine would have been behind the idea) and asked when she should arrive and what to bring.

( A few days later, she Apparated onto their doorstep with a backpack slung over her shoulder and the hope that this visit would be as pleasant an experience as the last. )

As much a surprise to herself as it probably was to Adelaide, Abernathy sent a snake that she hand carved out of wood. The note attached to the plain packaging reads: Happy birthday bitch! AB

Luka sent a birthday owl for Adelaide bearing another pair of underpants with a note attached that reads Just kidding, Luka. Underneath the underpants is the actual gift he intended to send her.

School had been out barely a day before Cinna sent out a mass email inviting everyone ever to come hang out. She figured after Independence Day people would probably be sick of their families already, so proposed the weekend after that: a beach party on Friday and if anyone wanted to stay for the rest of the weekend they were more than welcome.

Friday couldn't come quickly enough. Part of the beach had been blocked off for them very early in the day, and Cinna's parents had very thoughtfully hired some entertainment-- a series of beach vans, one with ice creams and slushies, another with food, a third with a bar and an attendant paid to look the other way, and a little DJ booth on wheels.

The sky was endlessly blue, not a cloud in sight to spoil the day ahead, and the beach was clear and ready for the shenanigans to begin.

Adelaide couldn't wait for the last day of school, and not just because it meant summer was upon them. That bitch she had to share a suite with in the University dorms was graduating-- for good-- this time, and she'd never have to try and sleep through one of her loud Ke$ha soundtracked room parties ever again.

Unfortunately, she seemed to be celebrating the upcoming finals with a sleepover every night, with increasingly louder and more obnoxious guests. Addy just couldn't take it anymore, so she threw on a jacket and stalked outside of the dorms to go lie in the grass and watch the sky. Outside, at least, was quiet. Thanks to the curfew imposed on everyone until University, the odds of running into another student were blessedly slim. No one would bother her.

She could just spread out and relax, perfectly alone.

Tryouts run from May 23rd to the 27th, from 3:30pm until dinner time. Some coaches may have students return after dinner for callbacks.

Students interested in trying out for Quodpot and Quidditch are invited to the pitches on the day designated for their house. Tryouts usually consist of several tests run by the coach and his or her current assistant; each tryout varies depending on the coach.

Current team members must tryout again to regain their spots on the team. Seniors and university students are ineligible to tryout. Students are invited to sit in the stands and watch tryouts, but coaches may bar rowdy students if they get out of hand.

Results of the tryouts will be posted in that house's main lounge or be sent out via w-mail at the discretion of the team coach.
