Song Meme: Poker Face
The Exiles actually managed to get some downtime, meaning they had to sit still for a week, before they had their next mission. Sometimes they had to sit and wait until it was time to do whatever it was they were sent to.

Liv spent the time finding poker games and winning substantial amounts of money. They had to eat and pay for lodgings somehow. May as well put what her mother taught her to good use. It was morning and she was sitting at the small table in the room she shared with Sarah and Meggan counting last night's winnings.

	Sarah is pretty sure she's about to get her butt kicked, figuaritively, but like every lesson, she takes this seriously. Her smile disappears as she focuses on her opponent and the cards, picking up what she can. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Liv's face is a blank mask. No expression at all, not even the slightest twitch of facial muscles. She had played poker against someone who had been one of the best spies in the world (to hear Uncle Steve tell it) and the slightest movement or expression would give her away. 	Sarah recognizes the general style at least. When it comes to fighting, she can follow a lot of the same principle. Her dad and uncle were two of the best after all - but in this realm, she's nowhere close. Her poker face isn't bad, per se, but definitely nothing to keep up with Liv's. 	Sarah is a bit more expressive. Her hand isn't bad, but its not great either. Her poker face isn't bad, per se, but for an old hand like Liv, the thought going into what direction to go is obvious. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She studies Liv, and true to her new teacher's comments, finds nothing. Her new cards aren't much help. Still ok... but not great. That gets a bit of a thoughtful look - mostly stoic, but not quite there. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The 'poker face' has mostly developed with having to lead through difficult situations, and becoming more and more stoic the longer she spends on Exiles road. Its definitely not through experience with cards. She bets cautiously - not giving away a lot, mostly because of consistency there. Her hand hasn't improved much though, and her tells give that much away. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sarah still isn't picking anything up from Liv. Could mean a lot of things. The fact that the money isn't 'real' helps, but she sticks it out. She has a good hand, after all - and that fact is probably broadcast a little. Not great, so she's not precisely certain of victory, but enough to stick out the hand and see what Liv does. 	Its going to take time, and she'll probably never be nearly as good at this as Liv. Sarah understands the concept, it just hasn't been trained into her - but she's taking the lessons. She seems pretty determined not to be intimidated out of a decent hand again. "Uhm... call." at least it kept her from raising more when she probably should have. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
