Dogs of War: Prelude
They arrived in a new place. Kev looked around. They were in an alleyway in New York City. No dead bodies surrounded them. Always nice. No rampaging mental patients at the moment, also nice. And there was a newspaper. January date. "Worthington Enterprises donates $1 billion to Lenore St. Croix Foundation. Subhead: "Also $10 million to CEO's mutant-specialty alma mater." Kev grinned. "What a terribly normal newspaper." There are sounds above and quite some ways away, and Kev looks up to see, swinging between the skyscrapers, four superheroes on weblines: one in crimson and navy, one in scarlet and azure, one in maroon and gold, and one in black and white.

Kev beams. "CIVILIZATION AT LAST!"

"Alright... this may only have superficial similarities to Kev's world, but he recognizes people I don't, anyway. We can let him try calling - someone go with him to keep an eye out. While you're out - and anyone else who wants to volunteer, standard detail. Kev, let me see that paper. I want to know where and when we are. Volunteers, I want options on cheap food and lodging if we're not in hostile territory. I stick out - so I'll stay hidden here and catch the new folks up and answer any questions, give them a rundown on tactics and abilities and get theirs. Any questions?"

"Ok... I know enough to guess its Latin, but that's about it. It just keeps repeating..."

she pauses, trying to make sure she sounds it out phonetically and gets all the words right, needing to go through it about five times to piece it all together:

	Dorrek clenches his hands into fists and resists the urge to growl. How are they supposed to save this reality when their only clue is a fragment of some old play? "I don't know a lot of Shakespeare, not something we had a lot of where I grew up. Either way, with only Kev speaking Latin, we need to wait for him to settle down before he can translate it word for word, or until we can get internet access to translate. Maybe that will give more clues. Let's let him make his phone call and Tasha get us set up in case that falls through. I'm familiar with Gwenny's abilities... unless she's a different version from the one my dad knew. You, however, I'm not familiar with from any of my experiences so far, and both of you could use a briefing on the team. You two up for talking so we can get the quick version of familiar with each other's abilities? Based on too many bad experiences - we could find ourselves in a fight any time. I don't want anyone getting hurt because I'm not doing my job."
