The fight with the Hulk was over, but a bigger threat now loomed. Apocalypse had risen and once again threatened the world. He closed in on New York. It would be his capital in the world he would shape.

It will be a while before the cackling is noticeable, but once the glowing Kevs have come together to charge at the still-quite-standing Apocalypse, it will be hard to miss. Their bodies are already starting to crumble to dust as they get to him, hands reaching for him.

And the mad, pained laughter turns to screams as the orange light presses past the metal of the weakened Apocalypse's accessories..

Apocalypse had been preparing to strike against the armored woman when he heard the cackling and the sudden appearance of the duplicates.

"What is this..ahhhh!" Apocalypse roared in pain. So distracted by this the repulsor hits him, nearly knocking him forward. "Wretched worm! You dare strike me from behind! I will see your body torn asunder for this affront!" Apocalypse's hand morphs into a claws, heading for the closest Kev's head.

	That's her chance. She's never developed any great precision with the lightning - but she knows how to do one thing with it - bring it right down on top of herself. Letting Kev and Tasha be a distraction, she dives in close, uses the shield and Apocalypse's larger form for as much cover as she can, and calls down the rage of the heavens up close and personal. The closest Kev... really doesn't care. Kev hasn't been afraid of Death in a long, long time. Nice lady, really. Apocalypse will connect with a husk of a body as the Kev's fight the pain-upon-pain, letting the devastation of Sarah's attack create more and more opportunity to infiltrate past his own weakness.

The energy pouring in won't even stay cohesive itself. Too much metal. Kev's scattering himself to the winds again, and taking Apocalypse with him.

One pair of glowing mad eyes stops the screaming and/or cackling enough to look to Sarah and Natasha. "Goodbye, lassies. It's been surreal."

Kev's attack prevents Apocalypse from properly preparing for the lightning strike. The First Mutant screams in pain as the lightning tears through him. He turns a hate-filled look to Kev. "You wish to sacrifice yourself to slay me!? Very well, fool, but I promise your death will echo for eternity!" Apocalypse focused his last reserves of power toward as many duplicates as he could.

With the machines destroyed, and Apocalypse dust, things begin to settle. Doug and Dani coming slowly to their senses - and Rahne slowly transforming into a human for the first time in ages, though she remains unconscious.

Sarah just stares a few moments where Kev was, then startles, looking at the Tallus.

"We... it says we can stay for the funeral." she says quietly. Too many lost. This isn't the first for her. She prays its the last.

	Dorrek staggers over toward the other Exiles, wiping vomit off of his face as he shifts away his shattered wing. He squeezes his eyes shut when he hears what Sarah says. Poor Kev. That they were able to fight Apocalypse with so few casualties is beyond amazing, but... At least Kev got to see people he felt were close enough to family before he died. (Reply to this)(Parent)
