New Digs (Open to SA) @ 10:47 am

[info]black_widow:

Well it wasn't Avengers Mansion, or any other place nice, but it would serve for their purposes. The old underground SHIELD base hadn't been used in a decade or two and it would be the new home of the Secret Avengers. The underground facility had everything a team could need. It had a kitchen and dining area, conference room complete with communications equipment, sleeping quarters, motor pool area and even a medical bay. The only thing it didn't have was windows, but they weren't a necessity, only a liability.

It had been cleaned out and the equipment upgraded before it was time to move in.

Natasha sat in the conference room looking at satellite feeds over the area they had gone to on their first mission. A steaming cup of black coffee sat on the table. She had arrived two days ago and was expecting the "team" to start arriving to check out their new base any time now.

In Russia @ 06:25 pm

[info]legends_misc:

The modified QuinJet landed in a small clearing outside of a small complex in the countryside not far from Moscow. The light of the full moon made it easier for the Avengers to see, but it also made them easier to see by the guards patrolling the outside of the complex.

(no subject) @ 08:28 pm

[info]the_ruskies:

The call comes in about 4:20 am EST.

A man in crimson armor climbs out of a harbor in Manhattan, barely able to stand. He collapses, water-logged and battered, upon the ground. He lit up American airspace alerts two or three miles out, but he moved too quickly for anyone to mount an adequate response.

Two hours later, Crimson Dynamo sits in an interrogation room on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, awaiting someone, anyone who will hear him out. It galls him to ask the Americans for help, but he has no choice.

He is betraying his country to save it from a monster.

One By One @ 02:49 am

[info]black_widow:

Natasha had a list of names of possible Secret Avengers, as the team was going to unofficially be called, that she and Steve had put together. Now it was time to go and talk to each of them to see if they would be interested.

She went to the first name on the list.

Comes With the Membership Card @ 03:38 pm

[info]punny_parker:

Being an Avenger had its upsides and downsides. One upside? Swanky membership card with built-in communications hardware. On the other hand, you have things like Kang. Ultron. Loki. Also, the swanky membership card comes with the expectation that when the call goes out, you answer.

Spider-Man's been called in by the one and only Captain America for a briefing on a high priority mission that requires his particular talents and knowledge - which feels a little like Eddie Van Halen asking you to sit in on guitar. After passing through the requisite battery of scans and security checks, he makes his way inside.

"Yoo hoo, door-to-door arachnid delivery service, anyone home?"

A moment of contemplation. @ 09:36 pm

It was after midnight in New York City. It had been a busy night. He raided a crackhouse, scared the crap out of the tenants, and even managed not to kill anybody. Though the reasoning wasn't that he hadn't wanted to. A woman, a dopefiend by her appeance, had been there with her young son. Bad enough what people on the streets experienced day-in and day-out, but the last he wanted to do was be the one to scar a child with gruesome images. He used his powers on the woman, curing her of her addiction, and promptly told her to get out. Yeah, it was definitely not one of his better nights.

Since  being rid of the symbiote and gaining his new suit, he felt it was his newfound mission to something for people wrecked by addictions and disease. Sadly, he oftentimes wondered if it was a losing battle.. He didn't want to be "Eddie Brock, the murderer" anymore. At the same time he couldn't see making much progress with the standard masked vigilante response.

'Pretty damn rich to have Frank Castle of all people call me a murderer. Still, doesn't make it easier to hear."

At the moment, things were relatively quiet. He stood on the roof of a small building and just enjoyed the brief respite. God only knows it likely wouldn't be long before he'd have to get back to work.
