This had to be a joke. A really sick bad joke. By someone with balls the size of grapefruits. Kevin shook his head as he looked at the address in the text message again. This was it. Apparently he was supposed to meet, at a used car lot of all places, Captain friggin' America, Steve Rogers.

Hell with it.

He walks up to the nearest salesman. "Hey, apparently I'm supposed to meet Steve Rogers. Where's the video cameras?"

Being an Avenger had its upsides and downsides. One upside? Swanky membership card with built-in communications hardware. On the other hand, you have things like Kang. Ultron. Loki. Also, the swanky membership card comes with the expectation that when the call goes out, you answer.

Spider-Man's been called in by the one and only Captain America for a briefing on a high priority mission that requires his particular talents and knowledge - which feels a little like Eddie Van Halen asking you to sit in on guitar. After passing through the requisite battery of scans and security checks, he makes his way inside.

"Yoo hoo, door-to-door arachnid delivery service, anyone home?"

Nick Fury knew where all of his troublemakers were almost all of the time. This way he knew when a headache was coming. There was one individual, not necessarily one of the troublemakers, he always kept tabs on was one Steve Rogers, aka Captain America.

Rogers was currently enjoying a cup of coffee and scrambled eggs at Rosie's Diner. Nick walked into the diner carrying a manila envelope. He slid into the booth and smiled at the waitress that appeared at the table. "Cup o' yer best, honey," he said favoring her with one of his best smiles.

"Coming right up," she said and went to get the coffee.

He looked at Steve and slid the envelope across the table.. "Got somethin' ya might be interested in."

Protection, Kansas was a small mid-west town surrounded by fields of wheat and corn. The town consisted of 526 residents and the median income was around 35K. The residents were cheerful and polite and went about their daily lives. The town didn't see many visitors, but today two white vans rolled into town.

The vans pulled into the parking lot and two men got out of one van and climbed into the other one. The other white van pulled away and headed out of town. No one in the town noticed what had happened.

Three hours later a beeping came from the parked van. A moment later the device inside the van activated and a green wave of energy spread outward from the van and engulfed the whole town.

Sharon Carter ran into the base with a dozen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents at her back. Intel had said that HYDRA was working on a new weapon at this location and Sharon led a team in to recover the weapon and the data on it. They stormed in with guns blazing.

Sharon had gotten into the main computer room and started downloading files when there was a sharp prick to the back of her neck.

Then the world went black.

Sif had provided the way to Asgard and with Sersi's help they had retrieved Mjolnir from the spot it had sat since Thor had been taken by Loki. Sersi had reported that there had been many attempts to move it, but all had failed. With Moljnir in the hands of Captain America, they made their way to Hel.

Sif went straight for an audience with Hela and let the Avengers go off to find Thor. With fortune and luck on their side, Sif would be able to distract Hela long enough for the Avengers to free Thor.

"Hela! I wouldst have words with thee!" Sif said as she approved the ruler of this realm. The spirits of the dead hovered near Sif as she approached the throne where Hela sat with a large wolf on each side.

Sersi had spent the last month in Asgard trying to find out what happened to the real Thor. She had taken Amora's shape and had gone undercover in the fake-Thor's court to get the information the Avengers needed. As for the real Amora, well Sersi figured she would find someone to turn her back into human form at some point. Sersi had to admit the woman had made a wonderful snake.

It had been an interesting experience for Sersi and she would have to make note to visit Asgard again when the real Thor was back in control.

Sersi-Amora landed on the Avengers' front lawn and had transmuted herself back into her normal form. She smiled and walked into the mansion. She sent a message to all of the Avengers to meet in the main meeting room.

Eros, known on Earth as the Avenger Starfox, landed on the front lawn of the Avengers mansion. He wished he were here on a social visit and enjoy the company Earth had to offer, but he was here on a more serious matter. Things were stirring in space and Eros knew that eventually Earth would get drawn into it. It was a good idea to give them a warning now while he could.

He opened the front door and walked in.

"Hello!" he called out. Someone had to be around.

Sif stumbled up the sidewalk. The gates of the Avengers' Mansion loomed over her and she held on to the smallest piece of hope. The Avengers would be able to help her and help save Asgard. Something was definitely not right in the Golden Realm and Sif was determined to get to the bottom of it.

That determination helped her endure a long period in a dark cell with little food or water. It kept her going in the dark and gave her the strength to over power the guard and make her way out of Svartalfheim, the land of the dark elves. They had magic users and were fierce warriors, causing Sif to be very careful and very slow in making her way out of their realm. Not only did she have to avoid the dark elves, but the realm was home to many dangerous monsters and animals. Sif had been attacked a few times, but a crude staff made from a branch had served her well. She didn't come out of it unscathed. Her body was sporting various bruises and cuts, some deep.

The journey to Asgard had been long and treacherous, but she had made it. She didn't go into the city, instead she skirted around it. The last thing she wanted was to be tossed back into the cell. She would rather die than go back in there. Eventually she came to Bifrost and Heimdall. Getting over the bridge could have proved to be difficult, but Heimdall was her brother. Despite being loyal to throne of Asgard, Sif was his sister and he looked away long enough for her to run across the bridge to Midgard.

Sif arrived on Migard outside the Museum of Natural History. She knew the Avengers weren't far away. Heedless of people and traffic she made her way across the park to the Avengers' Mansion.

She looked at the gate and then collapsed into a heap.

"Come on, Bruce," Betty Banner said to her husband as she climbed out of the car. They were parked outside a warehouse in Jersey City, New Jersey.

"Where are we going, Betty?" he asked as he climbed out of the passenger side.

"It's a surprise," she said with a smile. "I've been waiting to show you this for some time."

Bruce looked at the warehouse and then at his wife. "What's inside?"

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you. Come on." She grabbed his hand and pulled him along. "You'll love this."

"Okay," Bruce resigned and followed his wife inside the building.

Steve walked into the kitchen at the Avenger’s Manor after doing a twenty mile run around the city from his home in Brooklyn to the Manor. He grabbed a glass from one of the cabinets and walked over to the sink to get some water before taking a seat and taking a drink.
