Battle on the High Seas (of Canada)
When last we left our heroes, the hordes of Atlantis were heading straight for Canada, ready to enact great vengeance upon the surface world. The Fantastic Four had intervened, but were shot down over the open ocean (fortunately, the could all fly). But now they face an army of Atlanteans, including their mysterious leader....

Alpha Flight, alerted to the thread to Canada, has set off in its Alpha Flier in order to fight for truth, justice, and the Canadian Way! Fortunately for all concerned in this aquatic battle royal, Alpha Flight possesses not just one, but two aquatic heroes--the shapeshifter, Alex, and Marrina, daughter of the legendary Sub-Mariner himself!

Who will win? Will the hordes of Atlantis overtake Canada and then the world? And what has happened to the Atlantean Royal Family, Namor, Namora, and Namorita?

	Burdened by the three Atlantean-hybrids, Marrina was slower this time, and equally reluctant to leave Alex behind. But Namor (her biological father... whoa) might be the whole way to solve this mess... She started swimming out of the room. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Marrina stopped for a moment. Some kind of familial or schooling instinct had led her to her blood relations, but now, getting out? Back through the torpedo tube? Or... Wake-up...wake up, please..."

The words assaulted his dreams like physical blows. Something was wrong, gravely wrong. He hadn't felt this sluggish in...ever. The sounds of battle were dim, far away as if he were hearing them from thousands of miles away. He opened his eyes...

and saw a face that reminded him of someone he used to know. But...it couldn't be.

"Marrina?" he said slowly. "No...not Marrina..."

Whoever she was, his people were about to do her harm, and not under his command. He flexed his powerful forearms once, twice, feeling strength return to him by quickly, but not quickly enough.

"Soldiers of Atlantis! Stand down and free your King!" he commanded, his head still spinning somewhat. What was going on here?

Then it came back to him. The drugs, the taunting, Draconia's gloating. The rage bubbled up inside the Sea King like a volcano close to erupting, and his limbs found the strength to him free of their bonds.

In one strike, he punched through the glass of the stasis chamber, his eyes focusing on the leader of his troops.

"Atlanteans, your King commanded you to stand down. Do you disobey my word?" he asked, a edge of menace in his voice.

	Marrina had seen footage of him before, of course, but to actually be in his presence? He was so commanding, so regal, so powerful... She gasped at it all. Her biological father. Namor, King of Atlantis. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The warriors paused. It had been one thing when Draconia has overpowered Namor. That had been something they could follow. But they would rather face whatever fate awaited them for surrendering than face an enraged Namor, even with Orka to back them up. "We'll... we'll stand down, highness," one of them said. "You speak wisely, warrior. You will take this fool--" Namor gestured at Orka as though he were an offending decoration," and place him in the stasis tank Princess Namora has emerged from. Once you've done so, you'll follow me to the surface, and we deal with Draconia once and for all." Namor says, the effects of the drugs burning out of his system.

He looks at the assembled group of people, and finds two among them that he is not familiar with. He looks to Alex, and then levels his weighted gaze upon Marrina.

"You both fought in defense of my family and I, or so it would seem, yet I don't know you. I would question who you are and what you know at length, but I have pressing matters with which I must attend. For now, your names and my gratitude for your actions will have to suffice." he says, waiting for them to speak.

Namor's eyes narrowed as Marrina supplied her name. She reminded him of the Marrina he knew, but there was something else familiar about her, though he could not place it. Still, he wasn't sure that her name was a coincidence, and when he spoke, his tone was low, with an edge of command to it.

"We will speak more later, and you will tell me how you came to have that name, young woman." Namor said, as if the matter were a foregone conclusion.

"Atlanteans, to me! A usurper has lain siege to surface world and thrown your brothers into combat for her own selfish purposes. We will throw her down and all who stand with her!

Namora, you will rally the rest of our troops, and they will be given one chance to join our cause. Those who stand with the Usurper are enemies of Atlantis, and will suffer a traitor's fate!" Namor says loudly to all those who stand near him.

"Follow me, Sons of Atlantis! Draconia, daughter of Krang, suffered the wrath of the one, true King." Namor said.

He swam out of the holding chamber, out of the ship, and straight toward Draconia as fast as he could manage.

Namor cut through the ship like a fired bullet, and those Atlanteans who did not know their king was free again were soon informed. He didn't know the layout of the ship, but soon, it didn't matter.

He burst through the top of the hull and into the cold air, intent on finding the Usurper.

"DRACONIA!" his voice boomed across the field. The moment he became aware of her location, Namor would streak toward her through the air, ready to engage her in physical combat.

He assumes that she has his trident, and will be more than happy to relieve her of it, along with her ability to breathe.

	Alex followed out the hole created by Namor. Once in the air, he transformed into a dragon and started attacking the closest warriors. (Reply to this)(Parent)
