The Best Laid Plans
The Empress was most pleased. Very pleased indeed. Things were going according to her plan. The recent fights had been entertaining and she had her champion. Now she could win the games here on her home world. Her champion would win no matter what and she now had more soldiers in her army. She was quite pleased indeed.

She was stretched out on her litter as four of her soldiers carried her to the area. It was the start of the games and by the end her champion would be victorious.

Everything was going according to plan.

She had heard of his mother. "Despite your impressive maternal bloodlines, you are just a male and what is going on is not of your concern." If her champion had lost and her warriors were losing, she could be in serious trouble. She did check on the battle.

He was right. It was not going well.

"Of course, your highness. Though if you're looking for warriors to fight for your honor and glory, then getting defeated their first time out isn't a good sign. I can see your composition is partially of cosmic energy, and your power relative to mine /is/ greater... so given your obvious superiority, surely you wouldn't be averse to a wager with an inferior?"

"Speak," she commanded. She loved wagers.

He nods. He figured as much. "I'll give you two to one odds." Mortal lives rarely showed up in his dreams, but the affairs of gods? Now and then. He had nothing firm to base this on, but he has a hunch.

"I'll give you two to one odds - two chances to win. I say the Asgardian male defeats both the Asgardian female, and should the wolfling defeat the mortal, he will beat her as well if you turn her towards him - they are all of immortal realms, surely the strongest champions you have here, right? If either one of them defeats him, surely you can find some use for me as a slave?" Where he can work from within to put a stop to this, if his hunch is wrong.

"I suppose that if you win, I have to let you, all the males and the girls go, correct?"

"I'm giving you two to one odds, and if you lose, it means that your chosen strongest champions aren't worth as much as you thought anyway. Hardly a fair prize. If I win, you tell me who you are and where you came from, and then you let both the females and the males go. Do we have a bet?" That information could come in handy later.

She considered the bet. She had no intentions of ever telling him anything he didn't need to know and that included anything about her.

"You have a bet," she said carefully.

If her girls lost, she had a plan in place to get out of here.

He nods cautiously. There was something he didn't trust here, but cosmic beings didn't give away information with their heartbeats, pulses, body motions and pheromones as readily as mortals.

"Very well. Then we watch."
