The Raging Battle
An eerie calm fell over Asgard for a few brief moments. The forces of dark were outside of the shield over the city and were still. Inside the Asgardian warriors waited for the moment when the shield would come down and the battle would start. They were warriors, men and women, caught in an endless struggle against the dark forces that were camped outside the walls.

This would be another battle in an almost endless series of battles. Two forces locked in a constant struggle until the day the last battle came and all would be decided. Today was not the day of that last battle, but it was a day of battle.

The warriors inside the shield had taken up their proper places and waited for the shield to come down. The warriors armed with swords, shields, axes and other weapons were on foot and horseback. Beserkers waited to unleash uncontrolled fury upon their enemies. Magic users stood perched upon high battlements waiting to unleash their spells upon the enemy. Archers also lined the battlements, waiting to rain a storm of arrows upon their foes. Valkyries waited to take to the air to strike at their enemies from above. The battle commanders paced the upper battlements looking out at the forces, dark and light, below them.

Everything was still. Man, woman, horse and enemy. Not even a breeze blew.

The shield came down and chaos erupted.

The trolls are not entirely unlike the frost giants, brutes, though occasionally powerful ones. But even they are shrouded and hidden by their magics until they emerge from the rocky surroundings. They rush at ranks of troops, some felled by arrows and spells, but most rushing heedlessly on. Their troops have always savored toe to toe combat over any other tactic.

As individual trolls come out of the rocks, they are swarmed by Wolves in groups as best as the Prince can organize, a normal enough fight for them, merely placed within a much wider scale.

Moira has her mace with her, and she uses it until she can't get it out of the troll again. Then she sticks to teeth and claws.

It's certainly a simpler kind of fight than the kind on Midgard. They take them down together, or they all die together. Or both. Both is always the option waiting at the end.

Except maybe it isn't. But there's no point in worrying about that now.

The trolls meet ferocity with ferocity, spears coming to the front to blunt the charge of the wolves before their heavier troops step in to try and break bones with heavy clubs, unable to match their foes' speed and agility, but having the greater strength and durability.

Not the first time these two forces have clashed, and which is superior here will always be in question until the end.

Moira makes sure that once she and the several packmates with her are no longer out of reach of their target's club, they close in fast towards his legs.

The troll goes down quickly. The big brutes were never the best at coordination and teamwork, working instead through raw muscle and durability. Whenever the wolves group together on one foe they tend to take them down swiftly. Each time they do though, the trolls circle them that much more, trying to cut them off from Asgard and take advantage of their numbers.
