Anger seethed under the calm surface of the redhead sitting in a holding cell at Xavier’s Institute, but she didn’t focus on it. There would be time to act upon it later. There would be time for vengeance after she got out of here.

Lady Mandarin looked calm and serene as she sat in a lotus position with her eyes close in the middle of the cell. Her mind was focusing on the nanites going through the computer systems that controlled the door and locks to the cell and the other systems in the building.

She would get out of here and free her lord from his prison. Then they would deliver vengeance upon those responsible for her lord’s capture and rebuild his empire.

She opened her eyes. It was time. The work done on the systems was complete. She was not going to sit in this cell a moment longer. She unfolded her legs and stood up. A deep breath and a simple command. The locks disengaged and she walked out of the cell toward freedom.

Sarah sighs. "Yeah... no... sort of." All sort of correct answers. "I try not to advertise too much, I'm not really 'out', so I guess I'd appreciate it if you weren't too public. But if you were going to have any problems, it probably would have come out in the drama back there, right?"
She sighs, then takes a deep breath. Then, not ready yet, she takes a bite of ice cream. It fixes many things.
Another deep breath. "I kind of found out just a couple years ago - that I like girls, I mean. Before that, it was just never a big thing. I knew I didn't really like boys, but there weren't many people my age around. And then I met Anya... uhm, nothing happened, ever. She's... she's straight. But we became good friends... and she knows... knows how I feel. So when she's brainwashed... well, yeah. She's using it against me. The real Anya... doesn't like me like that. I know it, but it still hurts."

Molly nodded, just listening. "I kinda know what that's like...from second-hand experience. A friend of mine back when I was the Runaways had a crush on another girl on the team...but she was straight too. She tried to kiss her, once...but found out that she didn't like her in that way. She eventually found someone that loved her for who she truly was, and she loved her in return. Not that I'm saying that you have to move on right away or anything..." She bit her lip. "Sorry. I don't have much experience in the romance category. But I could see where that would really hurt you. And there's nothing wrong with you liking other girls. It's perfectly normal. You're secret's safe with me, though."

Sarah smiles, leaning over to give Molly a one-armed hug, trying to keep the other shoulder still.
"You're really sweet, you know that? And, uhm, that's ok. My total experience comes down to one date and two kisses, so I'm not exactly Dr. Love either. I appreciate the reaffirmation, and having someone to talk to though. Besides, I really shouldn't be, erm, looking or moving on or anything. Anya is just a friend, crushes just aren't fair sometimes. There's nothing there to move on from, just a crush." Yes, she's trying to convince herself as much as anything. That's all it will ever be.

That gets a laugh. "I didn't exactly have a normal childhood by Earth standards either. The world I was born on - we only had ten kids around, really. And all the parents were super heroes and former super villains. Wolverine was always Uncle Logan - he was my best friend's dad. My first kiss was... a couple years ago." she adds, running a hand over the green sash she always wears.

"Since I have trouble imagining Uncle Logan with anyone besides Aunt Ororo, I think I'll let you skip counting that one. I'm sorry to hear that about your parents. My mother used to be a supervillain, but she reformed pretty early. And my dad was Captain America... so no problems like that. Just kind of off on our own world til we came back to find the sentinels had taken over. Then I came here, kind of a culture shock."

"Ok, that's fair enough. And its a lot, believe me." She's gotten used to being pretty self-reliant. She just wishes she could remember the past few months, or why she came here in the first place.
"Always good to have friends. Speaking of which, I know I'm not going to be good for much for a few more days. What is there to do around here? If someone doesn't throw entertainment at me, I'll spend it all reading the newspaper and situation reports."

When you're feeling more up to it, we could maybe go ice-skating on the pond or for a just a walk around the grounds. Or even take a day-trip to the city and go sight-seeing." "I'm a workout fanatic. I get it from my dad. Morning workout, combat training, shield and hammer practice. Not even counting time spent revewing files and things when I can." she blushes. "Kind of, I don't know, boring I guess. Anya and her friends kept trying to get me to get out more. I'll remember the strawberries thing... and I'll make sure to bring Cherry Garcia to our movie night for you. I need to get more Americone Dream for that anyway. So what else should I know about you?"
