Live on the Scene (X-Men vs MLF)
A special report breaks in on almost all channels....

"We're here live on Ellis Island as apparently a group of mutant terrorists, known as the Mutant Liberation Front, have kidnapped a number of senators' children and grandchildren and have brought them to Liberty Island. The terrorists are holding the children in the torch of the Statue of Liberty. They have threatened to kill the children unless their demands are met. Sources have it that those demands are the immediate halt to the registration bill that is currently in Congress.

The children were abducted from their beds in the middle of the night by the terrorists and a note was left in their place. It is unclear at this time whether or not the registration bill will be killed. Congress is in session now debating the issue.

The question on everyone's mind is what is being done to save these kids? Where are the so called superheroes? Where are the Avengers? Where are the so called benevolent X-Men who want harmony between mutants and humans and fight for that?"

The kid had dangerous tricks up his sleeve and Elroy was careful not to do more than attempt to force the kid to react.

Seeing that Rampage had stopped his attack Aaron channeled the electricity he had used to charge is body and focused it into ball lightning roughly the size of a softball in-between his hands to throw at him and see if that would stop him.

More chaos, more lightning, more power!

As the ball lightning forms, Maelstrom reaches out to the electrical effect, trying to push it to greater and greater damage output and potential backlash, trying to cause it to strike out in all directions - sure, it'll hit Rampage, but Maelstrom knows he can take it - can Aaron? And especially, can the bystanders?

Noticing that he has lost control of the ball lightning he made, Aaron tries to stabilize it to no avail. While he knows that ball lightning can be quite volatile and dangerous Aaron could not figure out how he lost control of it given how small he had made it unless some outside force was responsible.

The orb increases greatly in size then went critical in an electrical explosion. The blast knocks him off his feet however his powers protect him from the electricity making Aaron absorb much of the energy on his side of the explosion.

The other side of the explosion is not absorbed. It kicks Elroy to the ground. The earth shows a decent sized indent from his body.

The thing that rises is Rampage gearing up to do what he did best: give the hero a nightmare fight of what he fears, growing ever larger and more terrible with every step.

Aaron notices that his suit has electrical burn holes sporadically all over his front from where the electricity hit him and he absorbed it. The energy he absorbed makes up for some of the energy he had already spent in the fight but not all of it.

Aaron was slowly starting to get back onto his feet when he notices the now much bigger Rampage making his way over to him.

He's getting even bigger, slowly, while Aaron watches. A portion of his appearance changes to mimic Aaron's fears.

This was very bad, whatever rampage was his appearance had changed to resemble an insane mix of the hulk, a clown, hellraiser, and something that looked out of Lovecraft. Terror did not even begin to describe how Aaron was feeling he just wanted to run. Get up on his feet he turned around to run as fast as he could. His feet weren’t moving but he was as he seemed to be propelling himself away on a floor of electricity generated from his feet.

Rampage chased after Aaron. He wasn't done with the kid. Every real fight needed a warm up round.

Running did not seem to be working and whatever he was doing was burning too much of his power and he was going to need it. Stopping and turning around Aaron sent 2 beams of lightning at Rampage but not too attack as that did not seem to be working but too weave a cage of electricity around Rampage to hold him until he could come up with a better plan.

It was going to hurt, but no pain, no gain. Rampage fought against the cage for the sole purpose of upping the chaos factor and his own bulk.

Crap not good, though Aaron, his trick didn’t buy him the time he was looking for and he was now down to only half his absorbed electricity, if anything his attack only seemed to be making Rampage bigger. Aaron comes to the conclusion that running is his only option for now and if Rampage got to close he would use his new trick to evade and get himself out of there.

Rampage was out of the cage in a shower of sparks, growling from the pain. He towered over Aaron, but he wasn't moving as quickly as the now much smaller man.

Aaron picks up on the fact that Rampage can’t keep up with him either, but if he runs away it might mean someone else gets double teamed by Rampage so he has to keep him distracted no matter how terrifying he now appears now. So Aaron decides to run in the area that they have been fighting and try to keep him there for as long as he can and hopefully backup will come before the worst happens to him.
