Live on the Scene (X-Men vs MLF)
A special report breaks in on almost all channels....

"We're here live on Ellis Island as apparently a group of mutant terrorists, known as the Mutant Liberation Front, have kidnapped a number of senators' children and grandchildren and have brought them to Liberty Island. The terrorists are holding the children in the torch of the Statue of Liberty. They have threatened to kill the children unless their demands are met. Sources have it that those demands are the immediate halt to the registration bill that is currently in Congress.

The children were abducted from their beds in the middle of the night by the terrorists and a note was left in their place. It is unclear at this time whether or not the registration bill will be killed. Congress is in session now debating the issue.

The question on everyone's mind is what is being done to save these kids? Where are the so called superheroes? Where are the Avengers? Where are the so called benevolent X-Men who want harmony between mutants and humans and fight for that?"

Ever since the news broke, he's been fighting any attempts to associate Genosha with this brand of terrorism, a tactic being used by foes of any kind of diplomatic status for Genosha. He's trying to calm tempers, and people keep using him to inflame them.

By the time people start asking where all the heroes are, he finally has enough, answering the news crews.
"You want to know where the benevolent heroes are? You want to know Genosha's response? I'll show you both."

With that, alone, he leaves the U.N. compound, and heads for the scene. Now if he just knew where Giovanna was.

	She'd been grateful for the assistance, and done all she could in helping the Brotherhood, but Giovanna had to rush into the city more quickly. She was going mad worrying about Andrew. She shouldn't have left him alone, not even to clean up the world. (Reply to this)(Parent)

As panic builds and the situation rapidly grows worse, Maelstrom fans the flames. It begins slowly - a storm, centered over Liberty Island, begins, spreading over New York. Helicopters can no longer approach, and water traffic slows to a crawl, even for the authorities.
As the rain builds into a full fledged raging thunderstorm, a more insidious effect begins.
Worries and fears turn to full blown panic. Anti-mutant entiments turn into riots, and New York begins to erupt into chaos. Its slow now, but its rapidly picking up steam... and violence.

"I've scouted the area out astrally. There's some kind of psychic interference. I can't get too close to the hostages, and the whole area is blanketed with... something. Its making people more panicked, angry... we need to leave the younger kids behind, and everyone be on your guard and be aware of your emotions." he responds over coms. "I'll try and deal with the interference once we get there."

	Blademaiden was pacing the visitor center quite bored. She wanted something to happen, hopeful the bill would be squashed but she highly doubted that it would happen. However she was anticipating that a pathetic rescue attempt would be made. In anticipation of this she had armed herself with a rapier, a dagger, and a handgun just in case thing got heated. 	In stealth mode and not really caring how much damage he might do, Misha sees someone he doesn't recognize and who doesn't seem to be part of the riot crowd. 	Blademaiden was only able to defect one of the claws with her rapier and her attempt to evade was not fast enough and took a bad blow to her side. Blademaiden was tiring out and even with the speed effect it was no longer going to be enough to take down Rose. (Reply to this)(Parent)
