Live on the Scene (X-Men vs MLF)
A special report breaks in on almost all channels....

"We're here live on Ellis Island as apparently a group of mutant terrorists, known as the Mutant Liberation Front, have kidnapped a number of senators' children and grandchildren and have brought them to Liberty Island. The terrorists are holding the children in the torch of the Statue of Liberty. They have threatened to kill the children unless their demands are met. Sources have it that those demands are the immediate halt to the registration bill that is currently in Congress.

The children were abducted from their beds in the middle of the night by the terrorists and a note was left in their place. It is unclear at this time whether or not the registration bill will be killed. Congress is in session now debating the issue.

The question on everyone's mind is what is being done to save these kids? Where are the so called superheroes? Where are the Avengers? Where are the so called benevolent X-Men who want harmony between mutants and humans and fight for that?"

Shatterpoint reacts barely in time to the repulsor blast, rolling out of the way with a burn across one shoulder. He takes one of the fists, rolling with the punch and coming back around, fist instinctively homing in on a weak point in the armor. If he hits, he's capable of breaking reinforced titanium with his power, he just needs to actually hit what he's aiming at.

This ought to prove the challenge he was looking for.

Misha felt more than heard the crack in the armor. In the space of a few seconds, the onboard computer began flashing information at him inside the helmet screen indicating the stealth system was offline and he directed the extra power to the combat mode.

Now that he had an inkling of what to expect and still in motion, he side stepped and pivoted around to send a powered fist at the man's neck.

Shatterpoint didn't expect an armored hero to be so quick or skilled. He does manage to dodge the blow to the neck, his shift causing him to take it in the shoulder instead.
He goes flying, hitting the ground hard. Then he kipups back to his feet, and lashes into a side-kick towards the stomach of the armor.

The combat computer flashed a warning. He side steps again, shifting the kick to a glancing strike that leaves another tiny fissure in the armored surface.

He advances on Shatterpoint with another repulsor blast, intending to knock him off balance again and get his hand around the man's neck. If he's successful, he'll drag him up into the air and drop him from twenty feet up.

The repulsor blast forces him to duck, setting him up for the next move. While he's grabbed, however, he's not helpless. Misha hanging onto him also means Shatterpoint knows where the arm of the suit will be. Grabbing for the wrist with one hand, he swings an open hand at the elbow joint of the armor, trying to disable some of the suit's super strength and grip.
Whether dropped or wriggling free, a 20 foot drop won't be any fun, but he can roll with it.

Another crack and more info flashing on the screen. He's about to lose a percentage of power in his right arm armor and glove. Barely ten feet off the ground, he throws Shatterpoint as hard as he can manage, and follows as fast as his blasters will propel him with both fists raised for an impact.

He hits the ground, doing as good a breakfall move as he can, but it still hurts. He barely clears the stars from his eyes in time to roll out of the way of the dive, and even then, the impact and shrapnel throw him off his feet again, and he's definitely not moving as quickly as he was.

The armor kept most of the damage from the impact to a minimum, and anger kept Misha moving the rest of the way. He led with his left gloved fist, throwing blows at the slowing opponent, relying more on the combat computer now that his suit was compromised by damage.

Shatterpoint can't keep up witht he combination of suit and Misha's powers, but a combat computer is more predictable and set. these moves he knows.
He takes some lesser impacts, rolling with them, and striking back. His blows don't have the force they did, but his power is based on precision and weak points, not strength anyway.

At the moment, he's already resigned himself to losing - he's just trying to damage Misha along the way and render the suit as useless as he can.

Sometimes you learn more in defeat than victory.
