Live on the Scene (X-Men vs MLF)
A special report breaks in on almost all channels....

"We're here live on Ellis Island as apparently a group of mutant terrorists, known as the Mutant Liberation Front, have kidnapped a number of senators' children and grandchildren and have brought them to Liberty Island. The terrorists are holding the children in the torch of the Statue of Liberty. They have threatened to kill the children unless their demands are met. Sources have it that those demands are the immediate halt to the registration bill that is currently in Congress.

The children were abducted from their beds in the middle of the night by the terrorists and a note was left in their place. It is unclear at this time whether or not the registration bill will be killed. Congress is in session now debating the issue.

The question on everyone's mind is what is being done to save these kids? Where are the so called superheroes? Where are the Avengers? Where are the so called benevolent X-Men who want harmony between mutants and humans and fight for that?"

	They were too close, and Zak was caught off guard by the shield. The quarter goes up against his chest and explodes. Zak was forced onto his back with his shirt blown open and cracks on his chest. He slowly gets up. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Something like that," he said with a grin. He flicked the charged coin and then started backing away. His shield would protect him in hand to hand, but only for so long and Detonite wasn't one for hand to hand combat. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Tch. Of course Zak was fighting the guy who could not only blow shit up and ward off attacks, but was proud of not being a hand-to-hand fighter.

As for the coin, Zak moved out of the way and caught the force of the explosion. It threw him a little, but he recovered. "I guess I gotta play dirty, too," he said as he pulled the gun out from the back of his pants and pointed it at Detonite. He didn't plan on using it, but it was a good way to scare somebody.

"Can your shield hold off a bullet?"

	Detonite continued to back away. The shield would slow a bullet, but probably not stop it. Not that he would ever tell the kid in front of him that. "Of course," he said and charged another coin to throw. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Then why back away? Shouldn't you be able to stand against anything with that shield then?" Zak followed Detonite while keeping the gun pointed for the coin in his hand. A plan stirred in Zak's mind, and he had the aim to follow through with it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Zak shot that coin, and it exploded mid-throw. The force was more than he assumed it would be, though, and Zak was thrown over the railing on the torch. His gun was tossed out of his hand, as well. "Craaaaaaaaap!!" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Than-" Zak made a move to push himself out of Lyta's arms and force her away while he inetcepted the exploding coin. He'd end up falling again, but he figured Lyta would catch him again. At the very least, she wouldn't get hit by the coin. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Woohoo!" Zak got flung into the coin, and the explosion knocked him back down onto the crown of Lady Liberty. His body skid across the top and stopped with a crash into one of the spikes.
