Just another normal day (Open)
It was just another normal day at Xavier's Institute For Higher Learning. Or was it?

It certainly doesn't seem quite as ordinary out by the water. Lucas is in what seems to be a meditative state - and, indeed, almost more part of the scenery, given that the birds still land on the yard right next to him without a sign of alarm, and otherwise, nothing seems to note his presence while he sits still.

Cait had no idea who put the blue dye in the shampoo in the guy's bathroom, nope not at all. Though she tried not to play pranks on a regular basis anymore, they were for kids, but once and awhile she just had to do one.

Now she was out on the lake, practicing with her powers like always.

If there are four things Cornelius Drake knows, it's art, dirt, the average rainfall in the Amazon, and the smell and feel of a prank in progress.

That's why he rinsed out his hair before he'd lathered the shampoo into the other half of his head.

...Corey hasn't any particular vanity about his slightly-auburnish hair, but he'd kind of intended for it to stay slightly-auburnish.

Misha is down in the Danger Room for David to appear, almost certain that he'd scheduled this time for little brother and a work out in the gym. While waiting, he's working his way through an advanced fight sequence using a capoeira trained opponent.

So far, everything seems normal today.

David had been enjoying time off from studies earlier. Bird watching and just enjoying the weather. He noted the time and changed into something more comfortable before he went to find Misha.

He remembered Misha asking him to be down here hopefully he wasn't that late.

David will find Misha in the Danger Room if he checks from the observation room. He can rest assured the big brother will not be asking him to do this. Once it's over, they'll go to the regular gym and start the work out program Dad wants David to start on. David is years behind in his training.

David thinks he's in good shape. He's always moving around outside for hours on end so how couldn't he be out of shape? of course he probably isn't as in shape as he could be.

David has no idea how much he will have to catch up on. He will though be putting everything he can into the training.

Hot and sweaty, Misha left the Danger Room rubbing his face and neck with towel. He found David and grinned at the kid. "Hey. I was early so I started without you."

David nods then gives Misha look. Oh please don't make him do the scary Danger Room program. He doesn't really believe that Misha would have him do that program but the thought crossed his mind.

"And here I thought I was late," David jokes.

There will be no scary Danger Room for David! Not for awhile, anyway. And not that program.

"If it'll make you feel better, you can be late." Misha clapped a hand on David's shoulder and turned him around toward the gymnasium level. "Dad said he'd like your workouts to be a little more challenging. You're a little behind." Before Misha's power kicked in, he'd been well on his way to mastering several disciplines thanks to Dad's training. Afterward, he'd progressed so fast that Dad had to resort to Danger Room programming.

"I figured I was," David admits to Misha with a shrug as they head towards the gymnasium level.

He gives a slight smile. "But I'll be sure to do what you say. Maybe by next summer I'll have caught up a little."

He doesn't know how far he'll get anyways but he's willing to do whatever his Dad and brother say he has to. They seem to think it's important so obviously it is.

"It's different for everyone. Dad wants you to be able to defend yourself even if you don't join the team when you graduate."

"True." He nods in a understanding sort of fashion. He personally expects that he'll go onto a local college. It seems to be what he would like to do at this point but he'll let the future come on it's own.

"Weapons will be starting, too, if you don't have a problem with a gun. Some people don't like them, some people sleep with them under their pillow."

They reached the gym and found it deserted. Kids were scattering for summer break with their families or just hanging around the mansion enjoying end of the school term before the summer session began.

"Hop on the treadmill and do a mile to start. Walk or run, it's up to you."

"I'm okay with them. I mean, they're necessary in some parts. I mean Grandpa always had them. Just kept them locked up in a safe cabinet and I wasn't allowed near it." He knows Grandpa has always been very protective over his family. The rule about the gun cabinet never surprised David because of that.

David nods and at first walks on the treadmill then works up to a slow jog. To him it seems the smartest thing to do.
