What If: When We Begin
Anya removed her helmet and stepped out of the suit of armor. She was drenched from head to toe with sweat despite the suit's environmental controls and the shorts and tank top she wore were plastered to her skin. Anya did always tend to run a bit on the hot side and it had been quite a workout. She sat down and straddled the bench in the locker room. She laid back and stared up at the ceiling.

All of her limbs felt rubbery and she didn't think she could move. She didn't want to move. This bench was nice and comfy. She could stay here a day or two.

She sighed and knew she would have to move. She had things to do. There was a new suit of armor that needed to be worked on.

"Ok, but if you get tired enough, go ahead and let me know. Lab rat or not, I need a lot less sleep than you do." she reminds her, trying to make sure Anya doesn't push herself needlessly. She sleeps little enough as it is.
"How and when are you going to tell your parents? I mean, I know this is a new thing, we might not last... but we might, and they're not likely to just miss it."

"Brat." she replies with a smirk. "I will give you a spanking if I have to." she teases back. "That'd be question number two though... I'm... still kind of getting used to even thinking of the L word in connection to me, you know? Going public with this... because its you, it can't exactly be helped, but I can't promise I'll always take it well. And I don't want to damage you or your family's reputation. I mean sure, your dad has always been a playboy, but nothing wrong with that in an old boy's network... this would... probably cause some waves with Stark's more conservative shareholders, you know."

	"There you go getting my hopes up," she laughed. She shrugged. "Please. I do fine on my own with damaging my reputation. I'm a Stark. I'm supposed to get into trouble. "I know you don't, but at some level, your dad still has to care, and you still stand to inherit Stark Industries. Rich girls are expected to crash their sports cars, sneak into clubs, that sort of thing. This is kinda... different, you know? I don't want to mess things up for you." she says with a sigh, voicing a lot of what's been weighing on her mind and trying to get out past the layers of cloud 9.

"Not that actively. Not with that whole mess." That was about as much as she was going to talk about Temujin. Anya thought about it for a moment. "I just realized that no one else has gotten to me like you have. Toni's my best friend and I love her, but it's not like you. I just realized that you were what I wanted. I still think guys are nice to look at, but there won't be a connection like there is with you."

"I can't argue that any, be kind of self defeating if I did anyway." She giggles and blushes a bit. "So... you do realize, I mean, I don't think I'm ready to go too far yet... snuggling is good... but when, uhm, we do go further, if we do... I don't really... uhm, know anything. I've had one date in my life, kissed one other girl. I know I like girls, but... I'm not even exactly sure how this is supposed to work."

She kisses her back. Its hard to keep worrying with Anya's general 'screw what people think' attitude. She has a feeling that this will happen - the Rogers worries, the Stark, not so much.

"Less question, more request. If we're going to make this work, we're both going to need to bend a little. I'm not the social butterfly you are, I'd be content to work out three or four times a day and study files and all. But I'll try and be better about getting out, doing stuff, putting in appearances with you. I know I'm going to have to deal with photographers and paparazzi and attention - it'll be tough, but you're worth it. For that, I'm going to ask you a big, big favor... can you try and tone it down a little? I don't want you to totally not be yourself, but less sneaking into places we shouldn't be, go easier on the drinking - don't drive if you're going to drink. I can deal with a lot of it, but I am who I am. I don't want to lose you, and I don't want to be attached to a giant Stark scandal... think we can find some middle ground? I'll try if you will."

	Sarah would do anything for Anya - though sometimes 'for Anya' means helping Toni babysit and keep her out of trouble, not always what Anya wanted. "I like all your sides.
