Olympic Level Action
The Olympics, as everyone knew, were being held in Canada this year.  Canada took this very seriously.  Canada took everything that put it on the international stage seriously, which meant that they were taking security for the Olympics very seriously.  Which meant using their very own super-hero team.  Which meant, of course, Alpha Flight.

Fortunately, it had been quiet so far and with nothing that could not be handled by regular security had happened.

Marrina was just glad there was no Atlantean team.  It left her free to root for Canada.  They'd done well, but but nearly as well as she'd like.

She tapped her communicator.  "This is Marrina, checking in at the hockey rink.  No problems here."

This is the greatest thing ever. Being paid to watch hockey. As occasional team leader, he's even gotten to drop the puck at a Canada game. Sure, it was the early rounds, but still.

"All clear here. All the fights are on the ice."

A hand pats Jordan on the back. A man with salt and pepper hair, a burger in one hand, and a brunette on the other arm, grins at him.

"Hey there kiddo. Our tax dollars hard at work, or hardly working?" Madison grins at his son, leaning in for their usual light shoulder-check as their hands are full.

Jordan gently shoulder checks his dad. "No one has stolen the rink yet, so I must be doing something right."

Lillian, having none of her husband's male-oriented restraint for their boys, wastes no time putting a bear hug on Jordan, kissing his cheek. "There's my big strong boy." She smiles, happy to see him 'at work'. "Look at you, all thinking you're grown up." She smirks teasingly.

"How've you and Mason been doing? I got his letters, but I still don't think he gets the concept of a bad day, so I take them with a grain of salt." She chuckled. She loved her younger son's optimism, but it went to the far end of the spectrum now and again.

He returns the hug with an equal lack of restraint, glad to see them here.
"Nah, if I was all grown up I'd probably need to quit playing superhero and get a day job. Been doing great though, and he seems to be adapting well. He introduce you to his girlfriend?"

Madison blinks, speaking around a mouthful of cheeseburger. "Girlfriend?"

Lillian chuckles. "He made me promise not to tell your father until they could meet in person. We're meeting him for dinner, and he should be bringing her along. You coming too?"

Jordan laughs. "Yeah, that's why he's carrying that stepstool around, so he can kiss her." he replies cheerfully to his dad.
"Really though, she's awesome, part of the team, Princess of Atlantis and everything. And yeah, I'll be there. And if she's not busy on her own detail, I'll be bringing a guest."

Madison looked like he was figuring places of pi in binary in his head.

"But... Mason can't talk to girls."

Lillian punched him on the arm, soliciting a yelp from her husband. "You be nice. No embarrassing him at dinner, either." She turns back to Jordan. "And you should know that goes double for you."

She softens up again, smiling. "And who's your guest? Another teammate? We really need to meet Melanie as well. We've only ever seen her in the annual Christmas photos."

"Nah, he still can't talk to girls. He's lucky she understands semaphore." he replies with a grin. "The flags make dinner conversation awkward, but its something."

He nods to his mom. "Yeah, another teammate. Emily Twoyoungman, Elizabeth Twoyoungman's daughter. We started dating on New Years. Its still pretty casual, but its a nice arrangement."
