Mayhem...and a little dinner.
Joey and Rose arrived at the sushi restaurant, and he let Rose take the lead since this were her territory and all. They spent most of the taxi ride talking about small things and laughing at each other's jokes. He was still pretty new to the Big Apple, so he asked questions about the different places they passed on the way.

Walking inside, Joey finds himself drawn to the quiet, private atmosphere of the restaurant, and wishes more eateries were like this. It's not Xavier's, but it's cool in its own way, and having Rose as company makes it perfect.

The pair are seated and provided menus and get set up with their drinks. Joey looks over the menu and realizes that he doesn't know what half the stuff on it is, so he learns in to whisper to Rose.

"Okay, what's good here?" he asks.

"Okay. There was one guy out there, tall, brown hair, British accent, black coat who was watching you and Johnny. He showed a few minutes after you walked in, and paid more attention to you than me when I went to his table. I tried to slip him the same thing I slipped Johnny, but he got wise to it." she said, a note of distaste in her tone.

"There was also a guy in the alley across the street. Hispanic, by the looks of him. My car is parked a couple of blocks over. It's a Black Dodge Charger, no plates.

All we've got to do is get over there alive and in mostly one piece. Which means--" she pauses and leans down, pulling a couple of pungent smelling salts from inside her coat and waving them under Joey's nose, "--that everyone has to pull their weight.

Get up, Aussie. We're leaving now." she says.

Joey grunts at the scent of the smelling salts and groans in protest, slapping the hand away. When he looks up, he sees Rose...and Foxx.

"Foxx? What are...you doin' here?" he asked.

"Savin' your cute little Aussie as. I can't leave you alone anywhere, can I? You just turn around and start messin' with the natives." she says, nodding in Rose's direction.

"Chill, Foxx." Joey says, a little more forcefully than intended. Foxx's head rocked back as if slapped.

"Oh, you're kidding me. This...isn't a con, is it?" she asks.

	"This was a date," Rose growled. She popped her claws. "But apparently, it had to turn into stabby time." Her looks softened for a minute. "Joey, I... this is 'cause of me. Don't know how or why, but... I'm sorry." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Hey, you stop that right now." Joey says, looking her in the eyes.

"You didn't set out to get jumped by a bunch of crazies while you were out havin' fun, so there's no reason to apologize, since I don't blame you at all.

But if these guys think I'm gonna sit by while they come after you, they're in for a rude awakening." he says, feeling his strength come back to him bit by bit.

"I'm ready to move when you two are. Don't worry. I'll keep up." he says, getting unsteadily to his feet.

Foxx watched the back-and-forth and rolled her eyes.

"Do two want to declare your undying love start making out on the counter now? I can go outside and tell our friends that you two are having a moment and ask if they're willing to wait." she says, pointing at the door.

"Johnny, fry the first thing you see when we walk out there. Claws, stab something until it doesn't move anymore.

I'll handle the rest." she says, and turns to go for the door, a wave of agitation rolling off her.
