Waking up
Kelly blinks awake. She can tell something is wrong immediately.

No, its not that she's strapped to a table. That's a little weird, but mostly only because she's pretty sure she didn't bring anyone home. Quite sure, in fact. That, and she usually does the tying, but hey, for the right gun dealer or sniper, she'll switch now and then. Like that CIA chick she had to distract for a weekend. That was a fun assignment.

No, that's not it.

Her guns, she can't feel her guns. Ok, that's a moment of panic, but one she's dealt with. Kind of like the time she's woken up after demolitions assignments gone wrong unable to feel her legs, except more traumatic. Legs grow back. But they've punished her for borderline insubordination towards Nick and others when she mouthed off by taking her guns for a few days. So she could cope, and its a different kind of wrong.

They... they... yeah, that's it. They're not in her brain anymore.

No urge to salute anyone, except maybe with a middle finger. No one she'd feel any need to obey if they told her not to streak Grand Central wearing nothing but two ammo belts and a heavy machinegun. Huh... maybe later.

Ok, so something snapped Weapon X out of her brain. Now to try and figure out where she actually is. She doesn't even bother worrying about the straps and all, just glancing about, smelling the air, and otherwise trying to get some context clues, starting with determining its some kind of medical facility.

Hmm, maybe someone finally donated her body to science fiction? Sure, she's still using it, but its a good cause.

Pause was only in the medical area to borrow a book from Alice. She had offered to lend him a book on anatomy to help him with his biology class. Human biology was not one of his strong subjects.

"So I heard that mutants are going missing again. Siryn was supposedly kidnapped by some weirdo in a red and black uniform and who was talking to himself. Goes by Deadhead or something like that," he said to Michael.

Michael had come down with David to help get the book from Alice and was going to help him study later.

“Weird I wonder why someone would kidnap Siryn,” Bookie says, “They would have to be a total nut job to want to try doing that and think they could get away with it.”

"I know. Mr. Cassidy called here. Joe and that weird dude who showed up the other day are going after her. I hope she's okay. She was always nice when she used to visit here."

Deadhead? Red and black? Total nutjob?

"Dad?"

Or DNA donor anyway. Still, she doesn't know much about her 'family', but that much is recognizable. And he sounded like he'd be more fun to do family stuff with than the test tubes and holding tanks. She couldn't even take those out of the lab for a family picnic. Anal-retentive bastards in regulations.

"Hey, rugrats!" she calls. "Where am I? What year is it? What's for dinner?"

"We're not allowed to talk to you," Pause said. "You have to ask one of the adults."

“David you think we should call someone down,” Bookie asks him quietly, "and for that matter who's here for us to call."

"You can tell me you can't talk to me, but can't tell me where I am. C'mon, I don't eat children... nevermind what they say about that one time in Tijuana. It was a misunderstanding. I'm just trying to figure out where I'm at. Seriously."

"Though, uhm, that knowing when dinner thing is would be good too. I'm starving."

"You're on Earth," Pause said with a smirk on his face. "Someone will feed you."

“We’re not telling you any more than that,” Bookie says.

“I’m not much older,” Bookie says, “and statistically most people our ages don’t”

"Got it, we're in your mom's basement. Speaking of which, most people who say 'statistically most people our age...', statistically speaking, never, ever fucking get laid. So, ok, why don't you guys run along and tell mommy and daddy that the girl in the basement would like to know why she's here and why she's tied up. If you're going to tie me up like bondage Barbie, you could at least get me some nice fetish wear. I feel so totally unstylish like this."

Bookie gave an eye roll and started walking thinking what the hell is wrong with her.

Stupid kids. She flexes as best she can to get a good swing, and then slams her hand against the table, dislocating her thumb. She slips her hand out of the bond without the extra impediment, then pops it back, letting it heal. The rest goes fairly quickly. She disables the nearest security camera, and begins making her way about the place, staying out of sight and trying to find any evidence of a security room, somewhere she can find this report that might tell her where her dad is.
