You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman
They had arrived at Earth and had orbited for awhile before Empress had selected her targets. It had taken some time. She didn't want just ANYONE. They had to be among the best. She WOULD win the gladiatorial games this time. NOTHING would stop her. Not even a small thing like gender.

Empress didn't care if it was cheating. The only thing that mattered was winning and she would win this time.

The teleporters were activated and the selected targets were beamed directly to the lab. There they underwent a little transformation and were given attitude readjustments and then put into a holding cell.

The men would wake up in the holding cell to find a few changes.

She takes the hit, not even trying to dodge, head snapping to the side, but no more apparent effect than that. The barbarian woman lashes right back with an uppercut.

Shock from what little effect (his)her punch had on Hal, Zak didn't move in time to avoid the uppercut. S/he could take a hit, but that still hurt. And it effectively tossed (him)her back a little ways. "Ouch!" s/he commented. I wish I at least had that gun.

Hal follows right up, swinging lefts and rights that shouldn't be so precise from someone so obviously on the edge of losing it. He's been told to fight - the reason doesn't matter. This is what he lives for.

Zak manages to dodge one or two, but the rest keep pounding in. There are dents in (his)her skin that will be mega-bruises when he reverts to a normal form. "Ah-ach! S-STOP THAT!"

The only response is a growl. He hasn't lost it yet, but the bear totem is screaming to get out. He lashes out with a headbutt, more than willing to test his flesh against metal. He takes the hits in response, and while Zak is strong, and they do hurt, he just keeps coming back.

Dazed by the heabutt, Zak stumbles back. S/he's trying to keep up, but it's hard when you're fighting a God.

Halbjorn isn't invulnerable, and Zak is strong. The punches in return show some effect, but like when fighting the Hulk, Skurge and others, even grievous wounds don't slow Halbjorn down any, regardless of form.
He charges, trying to slam Zak back against the side of the ring, give the enemy no quarter, and no room to move.

Be it luck or not, Zak managed to slip away from the charge and catch (his)her breathe for a moment.

Whatever the ship is made of, its strong stuff, possibly on the line of secondary adamantium. Halbjorn still leaves faint dents in it when his charge crashes him into it.

Snarling, he turns about, fixing his eyes on Zak again.

Break time over. Zak takes the initiative and rushes at Hal. S/he throws punches where he knows it would hurt a lot on a woman- the chest.

Those do hurt. Those hurt way more than he expected. And with the pain, a little more awareness slips, and the world goes a little more red. She raises both hands, clasping her hands together for an axe-handle chop, trying to drive the little girl into the ground hard.

Zak's caught up in the moment, and is smashed into the ground. Not unconcious, but slowly trying to get up. That REALLY hurt.

In the danger room, even against most foes who aren't the Marauders, there's usually some sense of mercy, or at least a willingness to let a downed foe stay down. Not here.

Halbjorn lashes downward again and again. She has her opponent down, while she's still moving, she's going to try and keep her there with extreme prejudice.

It's working. Zak can't get up. S/he can't even do anything. And slowly, but surely, s/he's slipping away into unconciousness. All Zak can really do is keep the metal properties on (his)her skin.

The pain from Zak's blows is all she remembers now. This one hurt her - most foes can't even do that. She has enough restraint, especially when given a mental command, not to kill - but that's about the extent of it. She pounds at the one who hurt her until it stops moving, and, even with injuries still evident, demands the next challenge with a wild roar.

Yeah, the barbarian chick is not right in the head.
