Waking up (Open)
This takes place sometime after Daniel got rescued from the Green Man.

Daniel stirs then sits up. His head hurts. His body hurts. His magic screams in his ears and mind from being pulled around. The magic that he can sense in the universe feels distant and cold. It does not feel warm and welcoming like it should. He knows why. The Green Man hurt him while he was trapped.

He shivers and climbs off the bed in the medical bay and sighs. They had him hooked up to an IV pole to deal with the fact he hadn't eaten in a long time and he was dehydrated. That was good. He pushes the pole with his arm that isn't attached to the line feeding him and weakly moves to where there is a sink and a mirror. He can see where he has been treated by Akilah's magic. He can see that there is white and green streaks threaded into his hair for now. Eventually his body will fix that.

Oh hell. Akilah is going to be mad. Daniel tries to think of what to say but ends up thinking of nothing that is quite good enough and hobbles back to the bed too tired to think of anything to defend his actions.

	Speaking of... Akilah walked in to check on Daniel, as per her usual routine. "I see that you are awake, Daniel." She smiled, which could possibly have made Daniel nervous. She didn't smile at times like these. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	He wasn't really ready to defend himself if she walked in ready to yell. He watches her silently then relaxes a fraction. Maybe she won't yell. He doesn't have the words yet to explain himself anyways. "Just a few minutes ago. How long was I out? I sort of just remember shouting. Not much else," he admits. Everything is quite fuzzy. 	"A few days." It was a short answer. Her eyes narrowed, as if she was hunting for something on him. She didn't mean it like that, but Akilah wasn't used to how she felt. Akilah moved closer to him- within striking distance. "Explain yourself." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

A few days? He thinks about it and feels a cold shiver go up his spine. He could have died out there. Too much magic pulled out of him or through him would do that. No wonder it felt cold right now.

"The Green Man took my father. I had to go get him back. There are accords and other things in place keeping him from doing something like that. The Green Man is not supposed to take someone like that. He sent a message demanding I come get my Father from him. I went to get him and-- I missed a binding circle. I couldn't touch my own magic or pull any from the universe. I was helpless."

"Because according to the accord that my mother had drawn up with him only a person related by blood to the one being held by the Green Man can go. I didn't see a loophole to bring anyone else! Maybe I should have asked for help. No. I should have," he stops and runs a hand over his face.

"No. I could have found a way. There are always loopholes. I'm.... sorry. I didn't think hard or long enough. He had my Father. I was angry and scared. He's the last family member I have left and the idea of him being held captive terrified me. I acted too quickly and without a plan. I should have went to Steve or you."

"But," she said as she took a seat next to him, "I do realize that you were not in a position to take your time. Yet, I do not expect this to happen again, Daniel. 	He stares at her intently. "I care about you too. I'm sorry if it seemed like I didn't care enough to ask. I was reacting. Not thinking. If I had the time to think? 	He returns it willingly. It is tinged with the fact he's tired. "I know. Thank you," he murmurs. Then he pauses to tug at the white and green lock of hair that has slipped down in his face. "I can't believe that he got me so weak my hair turned white and green." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	But what purpose would that have served? "I know. It had to have been the type of binding he used. I couldn't figure out the runes. Of course I did pass out pretty quickly the first time." 	"I suppose that is not a problem." She gets somewhat impatient with the IV and runs her hand over it, pulled the liquid back from the part injected into Daniel with magic. And she carefully takes it out. (Reply to this)(Parent)
