Anya rubbed her eyes. Staring at the holographic 3-D model was not getting her any closer to solving the problem. She was trying to design a zero point energy module small enough to power her suit and her potential new car. Her new suit was a power hog and she needed a more efficient and powerful energy source for it. Zero point energy seemed the way to go, but the problem was creating a device small enough to be put in the suit. Every design she had tried so far had failed. She was about ready to call in the big guns, Dr. Richards or Dr. Vernard. They were the foremost experts on zero point energy. Not to mention designing and engineering was not Anya's strong point.

A break was definitely needed. She had been in the office since 7am and had worked straight through since then.

She sent an email to Dad asking him to come down to the lab if he got some free time.

Now for that break. She shut off the computer and the hologram and headed for Pepper's office to see if Pepper wanted anything to eat while Anya was getting something.

"No, Tony won't nag you. He'll just hit on you non-stop." Justin says.

"Well, we'll get it figured out and re-work anything you like. I could use a good project to focus my energy for a bit." he agrees.

"That I can handle. Nagging is something else entirely."

Anya nodded. "We'll get to work on it tomorrow." The waitress placed the plates of food on the table in front of each of them.

"Sounds good to me. Oh, and this chili dog looks great." Justin says, taking a sip of the iced tea.

"I figure this, and a few more hours of work, and I can call it a night." he says.

"Here's to new discoveries, Partner." he says, raising his drink to toast Anya.

"To new discoveries," she said with a smile as she picked up her glass and tapped his. "Partner."

He takes a bite of the chili dog and savors it; this might be the best chili dog he's had in years.

"Yep, definitely picking your brain for more places to eat, too." he says.

"I grew up on takeout so I know where all the good food is." She dug into her burger. It wasn't the best, but it was decent.

Justin ate neatly, but quickly, and it is probably a testament to where he's been that this is the best food he's had in a long, long time.

"You rock, Anya. Just sayin'." Justin says between bites.

Anya blushed. "No, I just have a mother who can set fire to the kitchen. Mom didn't teach us to cook, but she sure did know how to teach us where to find the best food."

"Your mom is a smart lady. I wish I'd learned to cook at some point since it's a good skill to have." he says.

"It was a matter of survival. I swear lack of cooking skills is genetic in my family."

"Hey, the beauty and brains make up for it, Anya. Besides, that's what microwaves were invented for. You don't have to be a Big Damn Chef to make Easy Mac or anything.

And if you can't cook, it's good to be on speaking terms with those who can." Justin says, as if he's dispensing 16th century wisdom. He even includes a sage nod, before he starts laughing his ass off.

Anya shook her head. "I'm not allowed near a microwave. Set a few on fire and they ban you from using them. Toni still brings up the cereal catching on fire. I mean really. I haven't done that in a few years."

"I can't even begin to imagine how one could get a bowl of cereal to catch fire, when fire isn't even involved in making cereal. You, Anya Stark, have knack for finding trouble, I take it." Justin says.

"Spontaneous cereal combustion," Anya said firmly. "I don't find trouble, it finds me." She grinned. "I would bet money you find just as much trouble as I do."

"Leave it to a Stark to bring money into the conversation." Justin laughs.

"But I am as pure and innocent as the driven snow. Trouble and I don't even KNOW each other...at least, not until I met this girl name Anya." he says.

Anya laughed. "Please. You're a Rhodes. I know you're a close friend with trouble and no way are you innocent."

"Oh, I'm hurt by that statement, Anya. My heart aches at your lack of belief in my innocence, and...I just don't know how I'll get past it." he says, faking as if he's getting choked up.

"Really, though, that's cold. I can't believe you'd lump me in with the troublemakers." he says.

"Of course you know the type. You're the biggest troublemaker of them all." Justin says.

Then he realizes what he just said...and shakes his head.

"That did not help my case at all, did it?" he asks. "Well, still, you're the Queen of Troublemakers. The rest of us are just mere peasants in the land of Trouble-Making." he grins.
