Chicago After Hours (open)
Gregory Price slipped out of the Kingston Mines club and out into the mostly empty streets of Chicago. The night air was crisp as it tended to be during the early spring. The wind blew, which is Chicago was totally not a surprise, and Greg wrapped the trench coat he normally wore around him.

He bowed his head and started walking back toward his apartment.

The hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he stopped walking. Something was not right. Greg looked around, but didn't see anything or anyone. He didn't like the feeling of this.

He shoved his hands in his pockets and started walking again.

She almost couldn't control herself. When the body hit the ground, she was already upon it, fangs sinking into its neck and blood, precious blood, flowing freely for her to drink.

It took less time than she would have suspected to drain him dry. But it had left her feeling oddly... satisfied, the hunger at last pushed back.

Blood still stained her lips when she pulled away. She looked down at the body, then down at herself, and back again. "I..." Michelle started to say, then realized she had no good way to finish that sentence.

Greg politely turned away while she fed. He knew what it was like to have a side you didn't want people to see.

He pulled on his coat and smoked his cigarette while she fed. Occasionally he looked over his shoulder to check on the progress and when it appeared she was done, he turned back around.

"I know. Come on. The cops will be showing up soon and we don't want to be anywhere near here." Then something struck him. "You got a place to stay?"

She wiped the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand.

"I've got an apartment," she said. "Not much... but its home."

Greg nodded. "Good. Come on. I'll walk you home then."

"Thanks," Michelle said. "I'm Michelle, by the way," she added, as she got to her feet.

"You're welcome," he said as he put a hand under one of her elbows to help her up. "Greg Price."

"Thanks," she replied, grateful for the help. She felt... better now, seemed to move more steadily, with more health and vigor.

She wiped away the last of the blood. "Think... I'll be good for a while, but not looking forward to doing that again."

"It's not something to look forward to, but you have to do what you have to do to survive." Greg took one last draw on his cigarette and dropped it on the ground. He grimaced as he smashed it out with a bare heel.

"Let's go. Cops are coming."

She nodded. "Yeah. Let's go. It's not too far."

Greg walked easily next to her. "Don't hesitate to cal me for anything. I'll always be glad to help out."
