Planning out a course of action (open)
Tamara sat on the sofa, a mess of papers in front of her.

Currently, she was only in the United Kingdom on a passport. If she wanted to stay there and work, she'd need a visa. Mom and Dad had been great in sending her money to help her get started, but she couldn't leech off of her parents forever, or rely on her teammates to always be able to front her cash if she needed it.

But damn, that was a lot of paperwork.

Mother's maiden name....mother's country of birth....father's occupation....

Tamara heaved a sigh. This could take awhile.

Joe had been busy today working on the plumbing in the kitchen, and had gotten his shirt wet enough that he had stripped to the waist, soggy shirt thrown over his shoulder.

He was on his way back to the other end of the house so he could shower, when he spotted Tamara. "Everything all right?"

Tamara whipped her head around her shoulder. Her face turned a dark shade of red.

"Yeah," she said, her voice squeaking a little, "Just trying to sort through this paperwork for my visa. I don't want to give Casey a lot of trouble, since I know he's been helping out with those."

"Ah, okay," Joe replied, politely ignoring the change of face to crimson.

He looked over the mountain of paperwork. "I can see why that'd get you sighing."

"Yeah...I don't know how to really answer some of these...like 'father's country of birth'." She let out another sigh. "And I'm not sure if "X-Man" falls under a solid occupation."

Joe nodded sympathetically. "Yeeeeah, that's probably tricky. Mine's not much easier. Even though he did the time and all, people aren't quick to forget Dad used to be an international criminal."

"Mom at least has a solid career for me to use. Dad...not so much." Tamara gave him a weak smile. "Parents, right?"

Joe returned the smile. "Parents," he agreed. "Can't live with 'em, wouldn't be here without 'em."

Tamara played with a strand of her hair. "So...got any plans for later on?"

Wait.

Did she just ask him out?

Wait, she did just...? Niiiice.

"Nothing really," he told her. "Gotta catch a quick shower, but unless anything breaks, I'm pretty much free."

"I've been meaning to go exploring for sometime," she said, turning a little pink. "...Want to come with me? Maybe grab a burger or something?"

Huh. Back home, she could barely get out two words around him and now she was asking him out? This newfound confidence was a little weird....but it didn't mean that she still couldn't appreciate it.

"So...want to meet back down here in about thirty?"

And here he'd been starting to think he'd lost his mojo around women. New country, new options, apparently.

"Sounds like a plan," he agreed.

A somewhat goofy grin crossed her face. "Cool. See you in a bit." She gathered up her paperwork and made her way upstairs.

She'd have to change into something a little more...not sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt. Also, maybe put on a little makeup.

"See you in thirty," Joe replied, before heading off. At perhaps a slightly quickened pace. ...Did he bring anything worth wearing on a date with him?

In thirty minutes, Tamara was back in the living room and ready to go, wearing a simple red sundress and black sandals. Hopefully, this would qualify as a "date worthy" outfit. IF they really were going on a date...

One shower and a change of clothes later (and probably way too much time being spent getting his hair right), Joe was back. He'd gone with just a fresh t-shirt and jeans, but they were probably the best clothes he'd brought with him. Still waiting on the package from home with more of his stuff.

When was the last time he'd gone on a date? Was this a date? Was it bad he couldn't actually remember the answer to the first question?

"Hey," he said, as he came back into the room. "You look nice."

"Thanks" Tamara said, fighting back the blush coming to her cheeks. She was forever turning red around him. She'd need to work on stopping that. "You look really nice, too."

Joe led her outside where, of course, it was overcast and dreary.

"...The sun does shine in this country, right?"
