Planning out a course of action (open)
Tamara sat on the sofa, a mess of papers in front of her.

Currently, she was only in the United Kingdom on a passport. If she wanted to stay there and work, she'd need a visa. Mom and Dad had been great in sending her money to help her get started, but she couldn't leech off of her parents forever, or rely on her teammates to always be able to front her cash if she needed it.

But damn, that was a lot of paperwork.

Mother's maiden name....mother's country of birth....father's occupation....

Tamara heaved a sigh. This could take awhile.

And here he'd been starting to think he'd lost his mojo around women. New country, new options, apparently.

"Sounds like a plan," he agreed.

A somewhat goofy grin crossed her face. "Cool. See you in a bit." She gathered up her paperwork and made her way upstairs.

She'd have to change into something a little more...not sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt. Also, maybe put on a little makeup.

"See you in thirty," Joe replied, before heading off. At perhaps a slightly quickened pace. ...Did he bring anything worth wearing on a date with him?

In thirty minutes, Tamara was back in the living room and ready to go, wearing a simple red sundress and black sandals. Hopefully, this would qualify as a "date worthy" outfit. IF they really were going on a date...

One shower and a change of clothes later (and probably way too much time being spent getting his hair right), Joe was back. He'd gone with just a fresh t-shirt and jeans, but they were probably the best clothes he'd brought with him. Still waiting on the package from home with more of his stuff.

When was the last time he'd gone on a date? Was this a date? Was it bad he couldn't actually remember the answer to the first question?

"Hey," he said, as he came back into the room. "You look nice."

"Thanks" Tamara said, fighting back the blush coming to her cheeks. She was forever turning red around him. She'd need to work on stopping that. "You look really nice, too."

"Yup," she said, "All ready to go."

"Awesome," Joe told her, offering his arm. "Pick a direction, m'lady, and I shall be happy to escort you."

Tamara took his arm, smiling. "Hmm...why don't we just go out and take a left and see where it takes us?"

"I like the way the lady thinks," Joe said, as he lead her outside.

Joe led her outside where, of course, it was overcast and dreary.

"...The sun does shine in this country, right?"

"Only if it's a warning about the end of the Earth?" Tamara smirked.

He laughed at that. "Probably. Then again, I might survive that."

"The joys of being invincible?" She giggled. "Though that would kind of suck, really....being alone by yourself, like in one of those post-Apocolyptic movies."

Tamara bit her lip. "Sorry...didn't mean to really put a damper on things like that."

Joe shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Nothing I haven't thought about before."

Frankly, he had no clue just what he would or wouldn't survive. Or even how long he'd live. He still seemed to be aging, but who was to say what tomorrow held?

"Don't try to make a habit of it," Joe replied.

"What do your folks think about the whole Excalibur thing?" he asked.

"I won't." She grinned.

"They're still adjusting, I think. Dad seems pretty okay with it. Mom, while she understands the need for me to forge my own way, she's still getting used to the fact that I'm on the on the other side of the Atlantic, and not just a forty minute drive away. But they seem to like that I'm doing it because I want to help out other people, not because I'm joining a rock band or something."

"Cool," he said. "Mom's the same way, really. Dad just happy to that I've 'stopped trimmin' Chuck's hedges and fixin' his pipes.' I haven't had the heart to tell him I'm still the handyman over here."

That got a laugh out of Joe.

"Something like that," he said, once he was able to stop. "But it does seem to be becoming a trend."

Yes, yes, she did. Joe felt a little red creep up his neck.

"Says you," he joked. "I'm gonna start running out out shirts."
