"Just kinda fell out of touch. He went off to higher education and I went off the Alpha Flight here, and most of the rest just stayed in town and went to work with or for their parents, pretty much," Marrina replied.

She hesitated, but opted for honesty. "He wanted to take our relationship up a level, and I wasn't ready for that. He was moving off anyway, and...so we broke up."

Fearful of it, was more the answer. Fearful of what secrets lay hidden in her DNA.

	Somehow, he picks up on that. He lets his lips brush over them while he talks. "Do you think I pull my weight as part of the team? I mean, compared to what all of you guys can do."
