The Infestation Begins
The ship's flight was ungainly, as it tore through Earth's atmosphere. It had exited hyperspace too near the planet to have been stopped by SWORD's orbital monitoring station, and no one would risk detonating an unknown quantity while it was in the atmosphere. It was ugly and utilitarian, clearly not Kree, Skrull, Shi'ar, Kymellian, Snark, or belonging to any of the other major galactic races.

But it was there just the same, and it was screaming over the skies of Boston, heading toward the harbor.

SPLASH!!!

The ship hit the waters of Boston Harbor hard, sinking several boats in the process, before bobbing back toward the surface, it's hull pining as its metal cooled, sending showers of steam into the atmosphere.

A SWORD team was already on its way, but this "landing" would not go unnoticed by others.

	Elise closed her eyes, but not before sending a blast of her own in concert with Victor's. If anything survived Victor's blast, it'd be pretty messed up by hers. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Between the two blasts, very few bugs were left standing. The first wave of them were rendered crispy-critters by Victor's electric blast, and the others behind them were quite quickly killed by Elise's bolt. For a moment, the hall was quiet. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Yeah, I've seen how this movie ends," Sydney said. "I vote we back out now and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

She took a step backwards, nearer the wall. All the electricity Victor had tossed around was playing havoc with her sensors. If they'd been up and running, she could have avoided what happened next.

A bug burst from the wall, grabbing onto her back and sinking its teeth into her shoulder.

Crack!

The bite went right through her shoulder-plating and into the skin below. The bug's other arms grabbed onto her, trying to drag her into the wall.

	Anya heard the crack and turned to see a bug on Sydney's back. Anya raced over and grabbed the thing's head. She started to crush it between her two hands. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Bugs exploded under Elise's blasts, showering the corridor (and possibly some of the T-Bolts) with bug guts. For a moment, it was quiet. If they were going to escape, now was the time. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
