A Land of Sun and Sand:
Egypt is not all uninhabited desert. Along the Nile, the land is lush. There are large cities, such as Cairo and Alexandria. There is much more to the land than simply yellow sand and pyramids.

This is not one of those places.

The sun is blisteringly hot, pounding down on the sandy earth. Stuck in the middle of nowhere, this pyramid is easy to overlook. It is not especially pursued by archeologists. It is not easily accessible to tourists. It is, in short, an excellent place for someone to hide out. One would practically need the coordinates of the site just to locate it.

Coordinates which are now in the hands of a small group of people investigating an evil cult...

	"Okay, give me the cross-streets and I should be able to get us there. I had a little time to explore while I was...working, before I met all of you. My area knowledge is getting better." Matt says. "The point of wards is to not take them down, Matt. Not to mention that I've rather got your back in a magical binding sense right now so you'd not get sliced to ribbons." Shelly frowned at him. "But they're down at the moment. Or rather, I haven't exactly had the opportunity to put them up in the first place. I haven't been in my new place that long."

Shelly gave Matt both the cross streets and the exact address and hoped he didn't drop them someplace completely weird.

	"Hey, you okay over there?" Matt asks Michelle. He doesn't know her, really, and for all he knows, she could be having a hard time with this. The uninitiated usually do. He gets them inside Shelly's apartment easily enough. "All right, where's the coffee?" he asks. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"In many cultures, the word 'no', suffices, too." Matt says. He's not sure how he feels about taking a vampire to deal with a vampire, but at least he count this one as not trying to kill him, for the moment. He really hopes that doesn't change. "Coffee would be in the kitchen, Matt."

She hated travel by any other means than her own magic, but beggars couldn't be choosers. He'd gotten them there in one piece, which was more than she expected actually. Shelly smoothed out her clothes and started to move towards the kitchen when she stopped dead still at the entrance to the living room.

"SHIT!"

There, in the living room was a nearly dead naked young woman with vampire bites all over her body.

There was a time when a man could go and make a pot of coffee without worrying about what was going on in the next room.

Of course, these are the days (and nights) of Matt Walker.

He comes out of the kitchen and into the living room, seeing the body on the ground. He looks at the body, then Shelly.

"Is this kind of trouble gonna be par for the course for us? If so, I need to go ahead and get a few things in order so I know how to deal with you in the future." Matt says.

	"This has never happened before," Shelly hisses at Matt before going straight for the woman. "Let's not all pitch in to help now." Despite the stench, the woman was not dead, just very close to it and babbling incoherently. When she saw Matt, though, her eyes widened. "Dracula...Dracula!" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Matt, for his part, had no idea why this woman would even consider him Dracula. If nothing else, Michelle was the one with the fangs and pale skin. "She's half-dead and probably has a host of issues on top of it. She's probably scream 'Dracula' at the light post outside if she saw it." he says. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The woman wasn't calling him Dracula, though, and as Shelly knelt down to try to assess the woman's injuries, a pale hand grabbed firmly at Shelly's wrist. "Dracula...coming for him...." Shelly looked the woman in the eyes. "What about him?" The girl's eyes closed, though. "Doomed. All of you..." And she collapsed. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Okay, that screamed "ask me more", but the girl passed out after.

"I don't even know Dracula, so I got no idea why--"

Wait. Ian said he'd battled Dracula in the past. Matt remembered Ian being very closed off about the whole thing and never giving him a reason why. Matt just assumed they had some bad blood between them.

"Maybe he thinks he'll draw my old teacher out by coming at me. Won't happen. I need to get a couple of things, but I'll be back." Matt says.

"Okay, Dracula is the Lord of of the Undead. He's basically the master of all vampires, so to speak. He's been put down before, but he always manages to come back. One of the people responsible for teaching me magic, Ian McNee, has faced him before.

Dracula's no joke. If this woman's seen him, and he's involved in the craziness around here, we're gonna need a hell of a lot of back up." he says.
