Going out with a bang
The Avengers would only find two things. A hole in the wall and a note from Wally. It might have been a bit worrying considering the subject matter of the note...

Avengers...

Okay, gotta write this quick. Usually crappy cosmic awareness kicked in and I've gotta go stop something big and bad before it gets anywhere near Earth. Just uh...pretty sure I'm not walking away from this one so look, I love you guys. I'm weird as all hell but you guys accepted me as one of your own and just...yeah. Luna, I'm sorry to ask this but please make sure my dads know what happened to me and that I love them too. Right...time to go save the universe. Keep on fighting, Avengers.

Somewhere outside the Sol System...Captain Marvel grunts in pain as he goes through a rather large rock formation on a small moon. Wiping blood from his mouth, the young hero stands. His adversary, come from another reality, lands and starts launching energy blasts his way. Wally evades and returns fire only to see his photonic assault not have much effect.

"Damn...gonna get beat by something that looks like the horrible lovechild of the Leader, the Hulk, and the Sentry..." he grunts, raising the negabands to block another energy assault. He's not doing well, even with his healing factor but he's not about to let his opponent get away. He wants to wreck Earth and Wally is NOT gonna let that happen.

"Give up, Child Marvel. Embrace death just as the rest of your universe will," the glowing green man demands in that same cold, passionless voice he'd been using the whole time.

Wally grunts, continuing to block the beam even if he's not sure how long he can last. Just as he's pretty sure his arms about to give out...there's an explosion.

The enemy, thinking he's finished Captain Marvel, turns and begins to float away.

"And just where do you think you're going?" comes moments before several energy blasts strike the destroyer from another world. Standing where Wally had been...is a new, freshly healed Wally. And he's in a new costume. A mix of his usual one and the blue and white starfieldy design of one Captain Universe.

"It does not matter what new clothing you wear, Child Marvel..." the man begins only to get a rather quick fist to the face sending it rolling.

Wally just wags a finger. "The new get up's cool but only part of the whole Uni-Power gig so callme Captain Marvelverse right now. Seems the Enigma Force doesn't want you around either. And I'm inclined to agree," he declares with a smirk before rushing to meet the monster of a man.

"Iwanttosavethe..." Wally begins to chant as he flies. When he and his foe meet, the shockwave likely anoys a few powerful psychics and mages. But when all is said and done...the Uni-Power goes on it's way and the universe seems safe. There are no signs of Wally or the creature he had been fighting though. Just some residual chaotic magical energies and a day later, a certain pair of NegaBands turn up in the memorial garden behind the Avengers Mansion...



A universe away, a young shapeshifting and magic empowered hero smiles as he starts to re-enter Earth's atmosphere. Sure it's not his Earth but it'll have to do...
