Going Home
Today was a good day. Steve was finally getting out of the hospital and they'd have a few days together over the long holiday weekend. Provided of course that nothing went to hell in Boston and she'd have to go back and help the Thunderbolts deal with the disaster. Here was to hoping.

There was a bounce to her step as she made her way to his room. She carried a bag that contained some clothes for him and a pair of shoes. He didn't need to be going home in his skivvies. Though she definitely liked seeing him in his skivvies, or better yet nothing at all.

She opened the door a crack and poked her head inside.

	"Don't stick that out unless you plan to use it," she said and of course stuck hers out in return. She grinned. "I was going to walk behind you and appreciate the view." She kissed him. 	She gave him a big smile. Anya was so relieved to see him up and moving about and in good spirits. To say that she had been worried was an understatement. To say nothing of the fact that Steve himself was happy to be up and around. The thought that he could have been forced into giving up his heroic career by his injuries had been nothing short of terrifying. There was precious little else he wanted to do with his life, other than be an Avenger. (Sharing a future with Anya did first on the list, even before Avenging)

But he was going to have to rethink his approach. Completely.

He took her hand. "Lead on, m'lady."

	She squeezed his hand. "It's part of the life and even if we weren't in the life, I'd still worry about you." She was quiet for a moment. "I might be able to help with that. "You never need to thank me," she said after the kiss.

The elevator reached the ground floor and the doors opened.

"I'm going to have to take a raincheck on this weekend's burger trip. I promised Toni a girl's only weekend of a spa trip, watching eyecandy and shopping."

Every Saturday, barring something exploding of course, Anya and Steve checked out a burger joint somewhere in the United States. It was their version of date night.

"'s okay," Steve said. He probably wasn't quite up for a long travel trip yet anyway.

Even with their shared experiences as Avengers and what not, the ease with which Anya thought of some things, like ducking out to all corners of the country for burgers, amazed him. Such a different world. But apparently one that had a place for him in it, which made him a lucky man indeed.

"She's really bumming about Charlie being gone and could really use a pick me up," Anya said as they stepped off the elevator.

She would miss their Saturday trip for burgers, but it had been some time since she had some QT with Toni.

"You of course are welcome to come to Boston for a few days if your parents are okay with it. I can see to your recovery up close and personal."
