Enter Dormammu!
It had taken time, but Dormammu was a patient being. He had carefully planned all of this out and all of those plans were about to come to fruition. Various items had to be gathered and once he had them all, they had to be forged into one item. It would be the ultimate weapon and his agent would enter the realm of Earth with it and lay waste to all before him.

Dormammu would make his entrance into the mortal realm and finally defeat the cursed Sorcerer Supreme and his rule over the mortal realm would begin. Umar had been defeated, Dormammu released from his prison and the Octet was tipped in favor of Krakken and Cyttorak. Dormammu had the Kestrel Key and the Crystal Ruby of Cyttorak and could call upon the powers of Krakken and Cyttorak.

Balor, armed with a weapon forged from the Soul Sword, the Twilight Sword and the Kestrel Key and forged in the Flames of the Faltine, went forth into the mortal realm. The tear in reality he created sent ripples of magic throughout the world. those sensitive to magic would sense the disturbance. Balor stepped into the mortal realm in a location known as Los Angeles. Fitting that demonic beings would begin their conquest of the world in a place called The City of Angels.

The portal was now opened and Dormammu made his entrance into the mortal realm.

"We're fighting him," Marlow firmly told her. She let loose her storm spell to whip around Dormammu. She knew she would do more than annoy the situation, but a few extra seconds of breathing space for Dawn to get herself together was needed.

"Doctor, please tell me what you need and I'll perform the spells!"

Meekly, Dawn tapped the umbrella on the ground just hard enough to trigger her transformation into Asleif.

"...Still gonna die," she managed, as she stood, looking up. "...Gonna die. Gonna die."

That storm spell Marlow distracted Dormammu with was....better than he'd expected.
Stephen switched to telepathic contact with the girls.
A restraint spell -- something along the lines of Tendrils of Ikthalon? -- would be appreciated. It will hardly have the full effect, but to keep him swatting it at will prevent as much intensification as he is trying.

Yes, Doctor.

Marlow readied another spell. The words came easily in her mind, her need to say them aloud long since past. Ice formed in the air, creating tendrils of jagged teeth that whipped toward Dormammu with a wave of her hands. She directed them to fly around the figure and mimed pulling them back. She then sent them forward and continued the action to create a forest of such tendrils around Dormammu.

"Ah, Strange. Sending women to do your work for you? Clea was much the same to you, was she not? Another person to hide behind while you tried to justify your existence as Sorcerer Supreme!" Dormammu taunts.

Marlow's spells are an annoyance to him, but his containment is far from certain. Even as he matches mystic might with Strange, seemingly thousands of whispering voices mutter the counter incantations to Marlow's spell. While the forest of tendrils does not abate, it seems to slow to crawl as it approaches Dormammu.

"You could not have Clea, so you have taken her apprentice, Strange? Pathetic." Dormammu snarls.

"Mindless Ones! Slaughter the female mages!" Dormammu commands.

The mindless ones stopped their battle with Halbjorn and Titan and started after the two women magic users.

Dawn had added what magic she could to Marlow's, but her spell was clumsy and ill-formed. She was only okay at magic at the best of times, but now? Now she could barely concentrate. And what concentration she did have was tied up in that.

Masses of long green viper-like tentacles erupted from the ground to bind the Mindless.

"I say thee NAY," Aridis shouts loudly seeing and hearing what is going to happen.

"Thou shall not PASS," Aridis shouts drawing in magic and notching an arrow to her bow drawing in a deep breath of magic. She had intended on leaving the magic to the ones who could do it so much better than her. She let the arrow loose and it burrowed into the ground before the Mindless Ones.

Then the ground erupted into thick tentacles made of earth and stone striking out to knock over and grasp as many as they could. Aridis thought that Marlow's spell would be more effective though. Aridis drew her sword putting herself between the mages and the Mindless Ones. Her intent is to give them as much time as they need.

Stephen is incensed by what Dormammu says, but he can't let it get to him. He has to trust that the delays the girls come up with will buy them just a little more time. He has to press the advantage, work on the spell he's doing, let the energy blasts surge while Dormammu has more to deal with.
The Light of the Seven Suns of Cinnibus is pretty tricky to pull off, especially when you'd prefer the opponent not to be prepared for it.

The surge in Strange's attack keeps Dormammu on the defensive, doing what he can to slow the advance of the other mages while he battles Strange. Of course, he's also diverting power to unleashing the Hungerer of Norgannon onto Strange as well, but that will require keeping the Sorcerer Supreme occupied.

"You cannot defeat me, Strange; you can only hope to contain me. Your strength is ebbing. You will fail." Dormammu predicts.

The mindless ones struggled against the green tentacles and some were stopped in place. Others kept moving until the earth seemed to rise up and grab them. They struggled against the strong bonds.

With the many of Mindless trapped, Marlow unleashed another spell. Invisible claws tore at the creatures.

Aridis is pleased to see so many caught. Instead of rushing in like a fool with a sword she starts to fire off arrows. She might not be getting every single one of them but she is quick. That is what is important right now.

Dawn added what she could in terms of spells, adding what firepower she could to Marlow and Ardis's attacks, but each was weak, unfocused. She could barely weave one together, let lone put power behind it.

She was going to die here, she was sure of it.

Dormammu seems to look directly at Dawn just then, smiling maliciously.

"I can taste your fear, little one. Your death is inevitable; your fighting only prolongs your suffering. Surrender to oblivion and I will make your passing painless." he taunts.

The Hungerer is nearly ready to emerge, but he needs just a little more time.

The mindless ones continued to struggle against their bonds. There were some that were still free and they kept coming toward Marlow, Aridis, Griffen and Dawn. Lasers shot out of their eyes.

When the lasers started, Marlow retreated a few steps and threw up an energy shield. A lightning storm began and she directed the strikes to hit the Mindless. Her face was a mask of determination never seen before by her teammates. Her magic flowed deeper, stronger and faster than she'd ever felt it.

Dormamu's personal attention took out whatever cocentration Dawn had been mustering, leaving her easy pray for a blast from one of the Mindless Ones.

She went down hard, nasty burns on her body.

She was sure that she was dying.

And yet she got up again, her wounds healing by magic. And she knew what she was doing. Dawn could see how the spells worked, the patterns of magic she would need. Knowledge she'd tried to learn on the fly was suddenly there.

She could do this.

"Oh God," Griffen mutters. He can see the display on his shields flashing at him. Fourteen percent power. Did he have enough time to stay in the fight?

He dismissed the thought from his mind and kept fighting. He would just have to deal with the fight then freak out latter.

Where did the mortals get such strength from? How could they still be resisting him?

"NO! I am Dormammu! I will not be denied again, Strange! You will not take from me what is mine!" he roars, furious directing a bolt of energy at the Sorcerer Supreme.
