Getting back in the saddle
A file was delivered to Sammy and included handwritten instructions from the head office. She read it over the day's unnumbered cup of coffee, then put out call for a meeting with the remaining team members. Each was requested to be ready to leave immediately. Tech, the newest member, was also included in the meeting call. Whether or not he would be useful on this particular mission was to be seen. He could end up staying on the helicarrier. The rest would go.

Hydra had been a very naughty villain group and they were going to get a closer look.

Walker reacted quickly, launching into a kick at the first, while swinging his shield at the other while still in mid-air.

The first got hit by the kick and staggered backward a bit.

The second fired the energy weapon he carried as Walker charged. He ducked the shield when it came down to smash him.

The bolt struck Walker straight in the chest and knocked him back, but his armor held against it. There might be a bruise under there, but he'd be good to keep going. He dropped lower, coming up into an uppercut.

The second one got caught by the uppercut and was lifted off his feet by the blow. He landed on his ass, but wasn't quite out of the fight.

The first one had regained his feet and fired two blasts at the back of Walker.

Walker put his shield in front of the blasts, the vibranium alloy easily absorbing the shots. He pulled his pistol and fired his own shots in return.

One of the HYDRA agents is hit and goes down. The other one shot another blast from his energy weapon, aiming for the head this time.

Thank goodness for a thick head and an even thicker helmet. The shot, however, is grazing enough even with the protection to knock Walker down for a moment.

The HYDRA agent fired again and charged in. This guy was going to stay down.

Body armor mostly protecting him, Johnny waited for the guy to get close and launched into an uppercut.

The uppercut caught the HYDRA agent. His head went back from the blow, but it wasn't quite enough to put him down. He staggered back a few steps.

Oh, he was going to enjoy this. He closed the gap, threw another punch, and followed with a blow from his shield.

The blows connected. His head jerked back from the punch and then went to the side from the smash from the shield. He wobbled for a second and then collapsed into a heap. The one that had went down before lifted his head and shot a wildly aimed shot from his gun.

This time, he was aware enough to dodge, and got in close to give the Hydra a kick in the head.

"And stay down."
