Giving It Another Shot
Torn Ear's whiskers twitch as he braces himself. He's fairly sure he's doing things correctly this time. Flowers instead of a fresh kill. He bathed himself*. He'd even decided to try out human clothing. The ~~chosen one~~ Pym girl had given him a pair of hide pants that would even fit his tail; leather she called it, if he remembers correctly. The four-armed human, Silvee, had given him a very pretty shirt too. It was a bit snug, but the color was nice and vivid. To top it all off, he'd even picked out a face with the illusion-maker that he found satisfactory.

He knocked at ~~Red-fur~~ Rachel's door.

*And for the record, 'bathing' himself involved water and scrubbing stones in one of those indoor giant white bowls the humans seemed to enjoy.

	After some polite chatter for the duration of the walk to town, Torn Ear navigated his way to a small Italian restaurant, sniffing it out. Before going in, he turns to Rachel. 	"Okay, hang on," Rachel said. Her first act was to push out a general "ignore us" telepathic suggestion to the people around them, just in case. She took a deep breath. "Okay... I can do this..." Torn Ear's head swims as the skill floods in. He looks around the street, blinking at the 'squiggles' he saw earlier. He tilts his head from side to side as a smile starts creeping over his features.

"I... I think I get it."

He points up at the sign over the entrance to the place. "That says it's a place to get food!" He peers at it. "From... some... place..." He still had trouble with names. Certain sounds simply didn't exist in the way his people spoke. It had taken him long enough just learning to force out 'Rachel'.

"..boot-shaped country?"

Torn Ear warbles quietly to himself, happily looking over the menu with fascination. He tilts his head curiously at the amount of greens available, but moves on from it.

"I think... the chicken parmesean?" It seems simple enough, and not terribly expensive. He'd managed to get some human money by selling some crafted stuff he had made, but he was trying to be cautious.

	He nods. "I can imagine it. Looking the same to you. We can tell differences of us, but smell is very important too. It tells you what a person does, how they live." Torn Ear tilts his head at her.
