'Cause I Speak of the Pompatus of Love
Rose begged off anything after dinner with Brad, saying she had an early class in the morning.  A complete lie, but he bought it hook, line, and sinker.  They needed to mobilize as quickly as possible, and the lab would be mostly deserted in just a few hours.   Brad might possibly still be there, but she was more than prepared to deal with that.

It did not take long for the team to assemble, staging just outside the lab complex and just out of range of security cameras and the like.  Their stealth uniforms--which had been carefully and completely hidden away in their luggage--were the go to clothes of the day.  The black and gray suits would provide a measure of stealth and electronic misdirection.  Each contained a small mask, with various vision settings, though Rose's mask mimicked the lines of her usual pointy eared one.

"Okay," she said.  "We all know we need to shut this down.  That means smashing or confiscating any samples, destroying the computers, and otherwise makin' as a big a mess as possible.  And if there's anybody there...  we take them down as quickly as we can without killin' 'em.  We'll clean up anything we have to after we slow them back to the stone age."

She looked to Tina.  "Your move, chief."

Joey listens as Tina outlines the plan. While he does think that not getting rid of most of the scientists is going to bite them in the ass in future, he agrees with most of the plan. He's ready to get in there, do his part of the mission and get out.

"Two things: What's our time frame and exit strategy? We don't want anyone to get turned around and lose their way at a critical moment." Joey says.

"And if an alert goes up, this could bring the higher-ups into things, maybe even Cable himself. I don't wanna go down that road, but are we prepared to go through him to get out of here if we need to?" he asks, looking at Rose and Anastasia, as they both happen to be the man's sisters.

"I also got some serious reservations about leavin' these people alive behind us to start this up again. We take all their toys away, they'll get new ones, and use what we're doin' as more justification of takin' away mutants' powers." Joey says.

"I'll do my part, but I just want it on record where I stand." he says.

"Summers put you in charge, so I'm not going to start a thing over it now, but I don't think we have the right to be doing this just because we're afraid of what might be done with this." Chris puts in her own statement of where she stands.

"I'll take care of it though." She shifts, groaning as the bone spurs pop out around her joints.

"It ain't a perfect solution," Rose agreed with Joey. "But we start murderin', we prove their point too."

"An' Nate... Nate'd fight if the roles were reversed. So no, I ain't go a problem with it."

"You wanna just let them have a "cure" for mutants out there, Kit-Kat? 'cause that's what'll happen we let this slide."

Anastasia nodded. "Got it Tina."

"If we have to fight him, we have to fight him," she said, going into ruby mode.

The look Tina gave Chris was not exactly hostile but it was certainly not friendly.

"There are already people in this lab talking about using the breakthrough's in this lab to create a compound that would strip people of mutations. Not because they want to help people who may not like being mutants but because they think the other option is to exterminate mutants and if they can treat our 'sickness' they can 'cleanse' us for God. Maybe you are incapable of understanding that because you aren't a mutant but I sure as hell don't want someone else making decisions about my value as a living, breathing, sentient carbon-based life form for me, especially when they are based on a shaky conception of a 'god' that I frankly don't fucking believe in. If you feel like joining the Christ Cleansers, we'll be sure to tell Summers you give your notice but if not then your dissent is noted and summarily ignored for the purposes of this job."

She shook her head and looked at Joey.

"Rose is right. We can't start killing people. That...doesn't mean that I haven't already done a little...tinkering. Funny how people can be just forgetful."

It wasn't perfect and it wouldn't stop things forever, but there had been a few scientists in the lab earlier. It hadn't been hard to trip over a few synapses.

"Anyone else got anything? If not, we've got a one-hour window here, folks. Let's roll."

If no one else piped up--and she hoped they didn't because she didn't precisely like having to say harsh things to friends--she'd lead the march forward, into the lab exactly as she'd laid out for them.
