Labor Day - Avengers
The air was warm and the sun was bright making it a perfect day for a cookout to celebrate Labor Day. Classes would start on the 8th (for those going to college they started a week ago) and it was the last chance to kick back and cut loose before hitting the books.

At the Avengers' Mansion in NYC Jarvis and some helpers he managed to rope into helping with the preparations were busy getting the food ready. Tables had been placed out around the pool and the large grill fired up to get nice and hot. Burgers, hot dogs, sausage, ribs, corn on the cob, pasta salad, salad and fruit salad were just some of the food available to eat. Soda, water, fruit juice and other beverages were on ice.

To help get to know each other the Thunderbolts received an invitation to attend.

It was a day of rest and relaxations for those who put their lives on the line for others.

"Isn't easy" did not even begin to touch this situation.

"Rhodey, do you have any clue what Monica went through with Toni? Or what other-Pepper went through with Justin? I mean, seriously, man! We have life easy! And don't let anyone tell you different!" Tony rants. He takes a moment to breathe and collect himself.

"You cannot tell anyone about this. Not Pepper, not Reed, not Steve, not even Fury or Hank Pym! I'll lose my man card over this!" Tony says, pleading with his friend.

Yes, he uses the Russian Puppy Dog Eyes on Rhodey.

	He's going to be seeing that look in his nightmares. "Tony. When have I ever spilled anything you asked me not to?" Rhodey asked. 	Tony calms himself a little bit and looks at Rhodey. "Tasha is taking good care of me, and except for having my insides battered nightly and having to go the bathroom every half-hour, I'm all right." he says. "You try living on one cup of coffee a day and see how much you like it," Natasha said. They were all addicted to coffee. It's what made people in the life run.

Natasha turned away and chuckled. She really couldn't help it. It was a little bit amusing.

"It will. We're trying to find Stephen Strange to see if he can help. This has to be magic or a curse or something. You know Tony would have had it figured out if it were science related."

Tony had to give them credit. They'd gone nearly ten minutes without laughing, which was a relief. Laughing would have made it worse. Apparently, someone, somewhere decided that Tony needed humbling and picked the single best vehicle of vengeance they could find.

When Tasha chuckled, Tony decided to man up and ignore it. He was getting better at controlling himself, though it wasn't ironclad yet.

"I hope so, Rhodey. This will be way too difficult to try to explain to the shareholders. Or anyone.

Not to mention that actually having the baby would just be too disconcerting for words." he says, sitting back down with his hot dogs. The craving had come back with a fury.

"Really, I gotta stop denying myself so much." he says between bites.

	Lord. There was a possibility that hadn't occurred to him. Rhodey certainly hoped for Tony's sake it didn't happen. He knew his friend well enough to know he'd never make it. "Well, man, good luck with everything," he said. "And let me know if I can help." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Natasha didn't want to see that happen either. Goodness knows what Tony would be like. Just thinking about it gave Natasha a headache. "Just keep things at the company running smoothly so Tony doesn't worry or stress out. Keeping him calm is keep." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Tony enjoys his hot dogs while Eddie kicks happily inside. At least, he thinks it's happily and not baby code for "Oh God stop with the relish and sauerkraut!". Though, being half-Tasha, Tony supposed that could be part of it, too.

"I will do my best to remain perfectly calm and collected for as long as this lasts." Tony says.

"In fact, can someone help me waddle down to the lab? I'd like to do some work because that always relaxes me, and I want Eddie to see what his old man is capable of." Tony tells them.

	Payback was a bitch and so was Tasha. "Dear, I really think you should take it easy and sit somewhere where you can put your feet up. It helps keep the swelling down and your blood circulation is better. Perhaps you can sit on the couch with a laptop. Surely there's something you can do like that." (Reply to this)(Parent)
