Out In The Olde English Countryside
Del sifted through the mound of paperwork on her desk. As the S.H.I.E.L.D. liaison to Scotland Yard it meant she kept her eyes out for stuff that the agency couldn't handle or didn't want to and relaying the stuff that SHIELD was handing off. It also meant a mountain of paperwork that kept her at her desk more than in the field. She missed being out in the field and dealing with bad guys. It was one part of her job that she had loved. When did she get to be a paper pusher?

She found the folder she was looking for and opened it. The reports were ordinary enough, but something else in another file had made her wonder and she had to come back to this one to check. There was unusual activity out near Chearsley. Lorries rolling in and out at odd hours of the night and strangers in the small town speaking a few different languages. There was a report of a weird snake symbol seen briefly under the coat of one of the strangers.

She could kick this to M-I5, but she had a feeling they wouldn't get to it anytime in the current year. Del knew who she could call to do some recon under the radar. She picked up the phone and made arrangements for a meeting.

Oddjob's reflexes were just good enough to allow him to sidestep the incoming charge just enough to deliver a chop to the back of the guy's neck.

Ow! He's lucky he has the thick neck, quick regeneration and few nerve endings or he'd be paralyzed, in addition to in pain. He hits the ground and tumbles, cursing a blue streak before he pushes himself up and gets into a boxing stance.

"You're quick." he acknowledges.

Oddjob nodded. He wasn't a man of many words. He went into a fighting stance, ready for anything the green haired man threw at him.

Martial artist... should have known from the neck chop. Somewhere around the same strength class, close to the same speed. But Aleks is injured, this guy isn't. He doesn't want to start counting the ways this isn't good. His brain does anyway.

He throws a couple feints, trying to get the guy to bite on one of them.

Oddjob doesn't bite on the first two feints, but does on the third. He moved to the left to block a shot that doesn't come.

Aleks' brain is tearing through the analysis now. The rad-chamber might steal a great deal of his potential strength and toughness, but it lets him do something better than most of the gamma-squad this side of the Leader: think.

Upsides of this guy's body mass, a strong center, solid foundation, hard to move or uproot. No matter how strong he is though, that same mass and structure means once the big man has his momentum into a movement, it'll be that much harder to pull back. Aleks sees him bite on the feint, and instead of throwing the uppcut he'd really like to, he throws a quick right jab going the same direction Oddjob is already moving, trying to use the bigger man's own strength and momentum to throw him off balance.

THEN he throws the uppercut coming the opposite way, hoping he can catch Oddjob stumbling into it.

Oddjob doubled over from the jab that hit his gut. He stumbled forward right into the uppercut. It lifted him off of his feet and he went flying back and into a wall and half way through it.

Aleks doesn't even try to punch the big man again, figuring it won't be as easy next time. That tends to be the problem with top caliber martial artists - they rarely make the same mistakes twice.

Instead, he punches the wall next to him, bringing part of that section of wall down on Oddjob. May not take him out, but it should take him longer to dig back out.

The wall coming down on top of him was unexpected. Oddjob groaned and started to dig his way out.

Aleks is in no mood to fight fair. Especially when he's injured and the guy might well be better than him. Lives came first.

He lets Oddjob's head emerge from the rubble, then swings away.

Dust was in his eyes and it was hard to see which is why he didn't see the punch coming until it was a little too late. He got hit again and went right back into the wall, but this time he emerged on the other side.

Aleks isn't about to let up. Picking up the biggest remaining chunk of debris, he flings it like a frisbee.

It hits Oddjob and he falls back to the floor and doesn't move.

Aleks isn't sure the guy isn't faking, but he's still bleeding, and the others seem to be making headway. Besides, he definitely doesn't have any cuffs that will hold the guy. He moves to support the others and draw fire off of them. If Oddjob is still down when he gets back, they'll figure out what to do with him. He hates to risk it, but with the others outnumbers and not-bulletproof, he figures its the best choice he has on short notice.
