Feels Like Home
Natasha had enjoyed the break from being pregnant, but if she had to admit it she missed her own body. It wasn't because her husband didn't have a good body, he did and Natasha had appreciated every inch on many occasions, but it didn't feel like home. It felt different and not quite right.

There were very noticeable differences between men and women and Natasha still wasn't used to some of them. She would swear that a certain part of a man's body definitely had a mind of its own and Natasha had found herself in an uncomfortable position a few times. Looking at other men no less. She could just imagine what people thought at Tony Stark staring at men. Though there was something to be said about being able to pee standing up.

Quite frankly she was tired of women slipping her their phone numbers wherever she went. She had a wife crying out loud. Did these women have no shame? There were a few who had practically thrown themselves at her. It had taken a lot of restraint not to do something that would make them and her regret their own actions.

Even though pregnancy was uncomfortable for the most part, Natasha did miss certain things about it. Definitely not the back pain or the swollen feet and ankles, but she did miss feeling the baby move. Okay, so maybe not the kicks, but feeling a growing life moving inside of you was something special. She missed it.

They hadn't had any luck finding Stephen. According to the Defenders he had vanished in a fight with Dormammu. Definitely not good news and November was quickly approaching. They had to find some way to switch back before Nick decided to make his entrance into the world. She did not want to deal with Tony in labor. No amount of chocolate or coffee existed to deal with that.

When they finally did switch back, Tony was going to kill her. She had put about ten pounds of weight on his body. She blamed it on the chocolate and sympathy eating. Well in her defense she didn't know when this was going to end and she wouldn't be allowed much chocolate until after the baby was born.

Natasha yawned and looked at the clock. It was getting late and she knew she wasn't going to sleep well. Not with Tony tossing and turning all night in between the many trips to the bathroom. She appreciated her husband even more after realizing how much a pregnant person moved about at night. Not once had the man complained about it during the whole pregnancy.

Natasha yawned and turned off the lights in the penthouse and then made her way to the bedroom.

"I know it's not easy," she said. "But we're here with you on this." Tony had been wonderful when her extra-dimensional kids showed up. Of course she would do as much as she could and be there for him during this.

"Do you really think Clint would help things from getting out of hand?" she asked. Clint was bound to make it worse. Natasha could already predict how things were going to go. Misha would be...well Misha. James had already met the girl so Natasha knew she didn't have to worry about him. Anya was the one she worried about. It was a really weird situation and her daughter was still dealing with Steve's disappearance.

"I know, but you're still alive in this one. That's the important one to me."

"Well, it's definitely going to keep him and I from the awkward 'we have a kid together' conversation. I mean, I know how tough it probably was for you to have some of those conversations with others, but...Clint and me? With this? Yeah, we definitely need a few buffers to keep this from getting out of hand.

Meanwhile, Anya is going to know the moment she lays eyes on Stevie. I'm almost afraid of how she'll take this." Tony says. He knows his daughter is strong, but she's been pushed to her breaking point with Steve's disappearance. As much as he's loathe to admit it, Steve was stabilizing influence on Anya.

Tony doesn't want Anya to regress back into some of the wildness she'd exhibited less than a year ago. Things have been rough for everyone, but it seemed like his family was being kicked repeatedly in recent times.

"See, I was thinking of him being a buffer for the kids' reactions," she said. "I didn't think of them being a buffer for you and Clint." Which given their history, they would need it. There had been too many Tony/Clint arguments over the years. Which made Natasha wonder how in any universe they ended up together.

"I think she knows about the girl," Natasha said. "Which will help, I think." Natasha was worried about their daughter as well. Steve had been a calming influence on Anya and now that she was in Boston without Steve or Toni around, Natasha was /concerned/.

"Well, maybe we should go down there and talk to her, let her know what's going on. I mean, Boston is a really terrible place, except for M.I.T. and who knows what's going on with her. She's not the type to ask for help unless forced, you know." Tony says.

This may also be his Father-Reflexes kicking in. If Anya said she wanted to come home from Boston and stay with them, Tony would hug her, tell her it was okay and help her pack her bags.

"I knew you'd agree, honey. I'll tell Happy to get the car ready." Tony says.

"Wait a minute," she said. "We're not going to Boston. Anya is fine and she calls me just about every day. She knows about the girl. She has since Labor Day. We don't need to go to Boston. She'll come down this weekend for dinner and I'm sure she could use some quality time with her dad."

"You sure you don't want to go? I mean, it's only a day trip, maybe. We'd be there before you know it." Tony smiles, trying to sell his wife on this plan.

"Tony, she's a strong kid," Natasha said. Anya had gotten through some bad stuff in the past two years. Natasha had faith in her daughter. "She'll get through this fine and doesn't need us rushing up there. Have some faith in her."

"Its not about faith, Natasha. It's about being there for Anya. Her parents are two of the most independent people in the world; she's inherited that from both of us.

She's not going to tell us how bad she's doing until we get her to." he says.

"I'll schedule dinner for Saturday and on Friday you go up to get her and drive her home. This way the two of you get some quality father-daughter time and get to talk."

Anya was more likely to open up to Tony than she was to Natasha.

"All right, deal. Are you going to be okay staying here by yourself? I can have Pepper and Happy stop in and check on you while I'm gone." Tony says.

He's glad his wife isn't trying to dissuade him anymore, though he's pretty certain Anya will tell her more she'll tell him.

He wishes he had a diagram or a chart to help un-break his baby girl's heart.

"I'll be fine, darling. I don't need a babysitter. Those come after the baby's born when you and I need to spend some alone time with each other." Natasha smiled. "If it worries you that much, I'll have James come over and spend some time with me. I haven't seen either of my sons in awhile."

"I'd like it if you did. James and Misha could stand to see you back in you own body. Take James shopping if you two wants something to do. My treat." Tony smiles.

"And yes, we should definitely look into a nanny, because I'm going to want to have fun with you after the baby is born." Tony grins.

Natasha smiled and kissed him. "We still have time for some fun." She patted his cheek and went to start a pot of coffee. "I think we'll stay in. Movie marathon or something." She paused. "Or better yet, I'll invite Valeria over for dinner as well."

"I would be worried if it were anyone else, but this is James. I don't think he's gotten past kissing Val." A pause. "Not that it's a bad thing. I don't need Sue giving me hell about my son violating her daughter."

"Well, the idea of James violation /anyone/ just doesn't mesh...but I'd be more worried about Reed. He might drop the entire pamphlet thing altogether and go straight for Dad-Insanity." Tony laughs.

"While the Starks don't know how to stay out of it." Tony laughs.

"I blame the Romanov influence for the amount of trouble we Starks get into. I was an honest, god-fearing man before we met, Natasha. You turned me into a /complete/ wild man who threw caution to the wind." Tony grins.

Tony laughed with her almost immediately. He was surprised that he'd made it to the end of that sentence with a straight face.

He tried to speak several times and found himself laughing harder.

Her laughter subsided when Nick started a very vigorous bout of kicking. "Ooooo! Easy Little Man. I need those organs," Natasha said with a hand on her stomach. "Even you don't believe your father when he says stuff like that."

"This just proves he's going to be a hellion like his father and sister," Natasha said with a large smile. "Want me to make some blini?" She pulled two mugs out of the cabinet and placed them near the coffeemaker.

"Saturday good for the family dinner?"

"Blini sounds good, as does Saturday. Now, I know you want to see the kids and all, but you promise you'll tell me if you're not feeling up to it?" Tony asks.

"If you and Eddie get tired or anything and want to reschedule, say the word and we will." he says.

Natasha smiled. He worried so much and she didn't want to see him stressed out just like he didn't want her stressing. Though he was taking this one better than the pregnancy with Anya.

"I promise that if we don't feel up to it, I will say something," she said. "The kids will understand if we reschedule."

Natasha started pulling out the necessary items to make blini.
